Is it a good idea listing the sale with multiple companies?

I listed a resale with a company and they are calling with interested buyer as much as 12 dollars lower than listed asking price... So I am some what wondering if they are working with my best interested in their mind or just their commission...

You can list with more than one broker. Just be aware that if they bring you a full offer, you will owe the commission, if they have not received something from you in writing that you are removing the listing.

I listed with one broker and was in the process of investigating another. I was afraid that I would get an offer from one, accept it, and by the time I was able to get it in writing to the other broker, they would have an offer.

I was selling a small contract and figured it would go fast so I was overly cautious. As it turned out, I got an offer from the 1st broker in 24 hours so I never needed the 2nd broker.

I think that brokers tell buyers what they believe is a fair offer but will bring any offer to a seller. If they are bringing you one that much less than asking, and you are not interested, just say no. The more they get you for your contract, the higher their commission so I don't see it as an advantage to bring you lower offers.

I have read from several people that they listed with many brokers to give them the best chance to sell.

Good luck!!

I would want my realtor to tell me about every offer that is submitted. It is always going to be your FINAL decision as to what price you would sell at. This way it is your choice and not your realtors. I once made an offer on a house that was for sale that the realtor refused to present to the seller. He said it was too low. The house sold 2 months later for the price I was offering. The best part was that was my offering price but I was willing to negotiate upwards. I think your realtor is doing the right thing in your interests.

I understand why they are presenting all offers... Maybe I am just not used to the real estate agent who works for both buyer and seller...

In my state, Realtors are required to present all offers received as per licensing
requirements. :goodvibes
