Bought a Wilderness Lodge contract off of The Timeshare Store. The resale came with 2004 points banked, no 2005 points and 2006 points borrowed into the account. Kinda complicated but basically there were suppose to be 334 points available and no dues til Jan 2007.

So the contract hits the Disney system finally and there are no points. I figure its an accounting issue at Disney and give them a few days to finish doing their end. Nothing. So I call Disney this morning and they tell me that the work is done on this account and that I have NO POINTS till August 2007. All those banked and borrowed points are no where to be found.

I just called TTS and they are looking into this. Has this ever happened to anyone else?

No, but don't fret yet. i saw another post recently and The Timeshare Store resolved a similar problem. I'd say chances are good you'll have your points one way or another!!!

sounds like a big problem somewhere. If the seller did not really have points, then I'm not sure how to get reimbursed for those points or how much it should be. It sounds like a real mess. I would think that when the contract went to Disney, it needed to show the status of available points, etc. Goodluck.

Banked pts are only good for two years so depending on your UY if it is January then those pts are gone from the system. What doesn't make sense is why use 2005 pts before 2004??? :confused3

I just reread the contract and its a bit different than I first posted. 164 points from 2004 were banked. 170 points from 2005 were banked and they used up all of 2006 points. Weird how they used up 2006 but still have 2004 and 2005 banked. Maybe when the end neared for the previous owner they transferred out 2006 for cash but didnt want to go through the hassle of renting 2004/5.

I am not freaking out concerned yet. I have a signed contract stating the points I am suppose to get so there is recourse for me should this not go well. I was mainly curious how often this happens and how previous buyers who had this problem had their issues resolved.

In July 2004 we bought a 200 point BWV contract for $76 with a Sept UY. It had all 2002 points banked (about to expire 8/31/04), all 2003 points banked and all 2004 points available (don't see deals like that anymore). After we closed and points were in the system, DVC told me that the 2003 points were not banked (so also about to expre 8/31/04). This was going to create a problem but DVC went ahead and banked them for me so it all worked out. Still not sure if the issue was DVC or seller. Anyway, I bet things work out fine for you - good luck.

Don't worry, TTS will fix whatever happened and you will get the points you signed a contract for. There are occasional glitches like this, and they always get resolved in the end.

Disney is supposed to catch discrepancies during their review, but they often don't.

Ok, I'm on it!!! Please PM me with your full name, what you purchased and the name of your agent!

Tom :thumbsup2

Tom, I spoke to two different people at your company this morning, thanks!

My post wasnt to knock TTS, I've already bought three resales from you guys if that says anything about how happy I was with your service :-)
