Many find financing through Disney easier than financing a resale. Direct purchases can be entered into the system as soon as you pay your deposit and then reservations can be made.

Then there is the intangible thrill of signing next to the mouse ears and dating between the palm trees

I like the 5% GM rebate idea, that way I can "save" for my next Escalade.

I have bought non DVC timeshare purchases on credit cards as well so you may want to ask the resale agent if that part is important to you.
