Resale - min no of points for a first time dvc buyer?

I know I'm going to have to go through the posts and read all I can to become educated on buying a resale but my question now is - when you're a first time dvc'er buying a resale - what it the minimum number of points you're required to buy? Isn't it 150 through Disney? Is it the same with a resale?

I believe that going resale that you can buy a contract with less than 150 points without a problem. The minimum is only buying into DVC from DVD (AFAIK).

The 150 point minimum does not apply to first-timers buying resale. Closing costs on the resale will run $450 give or take, which makes the cost per point on the small resales greater.

I recently purchased a small resale as my only contract. Closing cost for me ran $375. Which I think is the minimum you could hope for. I think it is a good option for people who need primarily studios during the week or only want to go occasionally. Even with the higher price for small resales and the closing costs you can still spend less than going through Disney.

You may also want to know that when I have called MS they never even mentioned the fact that that it is strange to have so few of points.
