Requesting upgrade at check-in

We leave for our Poly trip next Wednesday morning and we can't wait! My dh and I have been talking about concierge level, so I decided to call and see if I could change. Since I booked our res back in June via Disney's website using FL resident specials that expired the end of June, they said I couldn't change the res.

So, what are the chances that we'll be able to request this at check-in? I looked at availability on their website last night and gardenview rooms (which is what we have booked) are showing sold out. I'm guessing maybe it's because of the changes from CBR closing. They are showing availability in LGV and both concierge categories.

Should I wait until check in or should I fax a request and ask about the cost of upgrading? We've decided to leave bright and early Wednesday morning. We only live three hours from Disney, so we'll arrive at the Poly before 10am. We know that we'll probably have to wait for a room anyway, we just wanted to check-in drop our stuff off and head over to Epcot.

Sorry this is so long, I'm just looking for advice from some of you vets. We'd love to try concierge, especially since it's our 15th anniversary!

Thanks:earsgirl:

If you want concierge you should ask at check in or call CRO now and ask what the difference in price is.... and if it is not too much for you then go for it.....We are staying in concierge at the WL for the first time and from every thing I have read it will be awesome....

I guess we'll just have to ask at check-in. I've already called CRO and they're the ones that gave me the information about not being able to check or change it because the code I booked under isn't valid anymore.

I've seen posts where concierge at check-in can be as low as $50 or so, my dh and I will just have to decide together what our limit will be and go from there.

Thanks

We were offered concierge upgrade at WL in May for $35/nite, which is alot cheaper than changing the resv. in advance. I imagine that if it's available they may offer the same type of deal at check-in, which I think would be better than to call in advance.

Good luck!

WOW- $35 a nite for upgrade??

Did you inquire about it first or did they offer it without prompting??
