Requesting rooms?? Doesn't everyone request the same rooms?

Just assumed most would want to be near transportation and food court but looks like some may chose locations for other reasons.

All sorts of different places to love.

At SSR we request Paddock, which is not close to the food area.

At OKW we request Turtle Pond b/c it's lovely. We also request first floor if my aunt is with us b/c of her knees. Many people avoid first floors b/c of fear of snakes.

There are bus stops everywhere, but we almost always rent a car so it's a moot point.

Being near the "front" of the resort at SSR is now a preferred category. Unless you're booking in that category, don't hold your breath to get it.

Room numbers may also be emailed to you, so you'd still be eligible for the bypass the front desk if you have email access from your phone. In fact, I have a US phone number and completed online check-in with my number, but my room number was still emailed to me and never texted to me. I happened to check my email in the airport while waiting for DME and saw it.

But to qualify for the text you have to have MBs. Int'l guests, unless they are reusing old ones, are picking those up at the resort.

And I've NEVER gotten a room text (not int'l).

I don't know of any Canadian guest who has ever had their room number emailed to them. I don't know if it's true or not, but I've been told by different CM's that it's not possible, and I've got plenty of old magicbands that I can reuse.

No idea about Canadians. Just putting it out there that texting isn't the only method by which you can receive the room number.
