Requesting certain rooms?

How far ahead do you call to request a certain room? Meaning, if I'd like Building 15 at HH, at how many days out should I call to request it? We realize that you can request something when you book the room, but when do you call back to "remind" them? It may be too late for this year's trip, but we'd like to know in the future.

8 Days and Counting!

We always make our requests when we make our reservations at the 11 month window. We have never been dissapointed.

I don't recall every calling or faxing my room requests ahead of time. I ask for whatever I want when I make my reservations. We had a problem with rooms on our last visit, but it was solved to our satisfaction by front desk CMs :).

Please remember that the more specific your request/the more stipulations you put on the reservation, the harder it actually is to meet ALL the requests. My experience is DVC CMs try their best to meet as many if not all of guests requests.

RyMickey...we have been told by Disney room assignment personnel on this board that the requests are prioritized at the time they are made. So if someone asks (for example) for a Boardwalk view at BWV at the 11 month booking window, then no one who requests the same thing after that time would come ahead of their request. So calling or faxing a few weeks or days ahead of arriving, in theory, should have no bearing on getting what you want. However, it probably couldn't hurt any.

Also, the more things you request, the less likely you will get what you want. If someone requests a non-smoking, Boardwalk view, close to the elevators, non-handicapped, top floor room then the room assigners will try to fill the request starting with whatever was listed first and working their way down the list. Asking for specific room numbers or set of room numbers seems to be pretty hit or miss, and if you don't get them the room assigners really don't have a lot more information to help them assign your room.

Good luck, and enjoy your trip!
