Does anyone request an actual room as opposed to making requests such as the floor they want to be on, to be close to the elevator etc. If you have requested a specific room how has this worked out for you? We will be staying at BLT in a 1 bedroom standard view in September. Last year we did not make a request and lucked out with a view of the marina and could see the water pagent from our patio!

I have requested a certain room, but in doing so, what they will try and do is get you in that certain area. I've always had success at BCV's doing it that way. But the biggest advise on these boards is to request a view or general area you like such as near an elevator. I do take it one step further and mention a particular room and they've never steered me wrong, give it a shot.

You can, but if that room is not available, then your room will be just randomly assignment as they won't have any idea of exactly what you were looking for.

I would say, if there is a specific room you want, put in the general area request ahead of time, don't do online check in, and then when you get there, ask if the room you want is available for your stay.

At least if it is not, the room you will be given might be close.

Good luck!

You can but it's a risk to you not getting what you really want and an aggravation to the system.

I've requested a specific room three times. Twice I did get the room and then one time I got the room directly "above" the requested room. :thumbsup2

I've requested a specific room on 2 seperate occassions, followed both times by "or room in that area of the resort". Both times I got rooms as far removed from that area as possible. This last time, at BCV, I was especially puzzled. When I didn't get it, I asked at the front desk "Do you have any other 'woods view' studios?" They assured me that they'd tried, but there were simply no woods view studios open. When I got my studio assignment, it was HA and since I needed a tub, I asked for anything else. Poof-a wonderful woods view studio magically appeared. Why did they initially tell me there would be no "woods view" studios available that day, but had one an hour later?

That's my point, they don't look at simple requests very well and definitely don't do well with complicated requests. I'd keep it very simple and concentrate on what's important.

I requested a specific room at BWV's twice and got it both times. However...bigggg however....we go usually in September and the request is probably more easily accommodated at that time. So I guess the fulfillment of these requests also depends on the time of year you are there.

A specifc room? Heck we never get a specific floor! l always ask for a high floor and end up on the 3rd floor of a five story building (BCV). But we end up going at high volume times like spring break due to the school schedule and don't come in till a Tuesday. Most high rooms are taken over the weekend.

Next time we will try at a lower volume time, like the week after Christmas!
