Here is a <a href="http://wdwinfo.infopop.net/OpenTopic/page?q=Y&a=tpc&s=40009993&f=14009194&m=2640953451">link</a> to the DVC Board thread with the above title, which sounds like something that would be of interest on this board too.

Thanks for the link, we have this problem often, I am a wheelchair user however my disability requires me to soak in warm water once or twice a day...of course I would also like a bathroom that is wheelchair accessible..(wide enough entry door and room to manuever) we have unfortunately found that many handicap rooms have no tub..which often means getting on crutches for use of the bathroom facilities. I can't tell you how many times I have had my crutches slip on wet bathroom floors...

Thanks Wes! We had that problem too at DxL. Even when we went though special services to request a first-floor room with a tub (for our 5 y.o. son who can't walk), we ended up with a handi room with no tub. The bellhop told us that sometimes the room assigner sees special services and automatically assigns the handicap room. We were moved to an appropriate room, but it was a hassle. My advice is to go through special services *AND* fax the room assigner to remind him/her to look at ALL of your requests.

Our handicapped room at All-Star Sports DID have a tub.

From what I have learned, there are different levels of handicapped rooms. Some just have a lot of grab bars and raised toilets. Some are fully accessible to a person who uses a wheelchair and can't walk (and some are in between).
The best advice is to ask for exactly what you need and if they say it is an accessible room, ask for specifics of what that means.
