Reprints of b&w photos

Any suggestions of where to get reprints from black and white photos? The photos are old family pictures and we don't have the negatives.

If I go through Target, they will charge $5.50 to make a negative and then another $1 per print for each picture. Any ideas that would be cheaper than this?

Do Snapfish, Ofoto, etc allow up to upload scanned images or only from a digital camera? I would love to be able to upload a scanned image and just order print from there. Can they make b&w prints?

These pictures were the first my husband had ever seen of his grandfather who died in 1931. We would love to be able to share copies with his sibilings.

I copied a bunch of old black and white photos for my parents' 50th wedding anniversary party. I just scanned them on my PC, then wrote them to a CD-R and took them to the local camera shop. They had no problem printing them for me and seemed willing and able to help. And the prints were only $0.39 each.

I imagine that snapfish or ofoto would allow you to do the same thing.

One of our local photo places are able to do copies of old photos (I believe positive to positive). We've done all different sizes of old photos and it just varies based on the size. I actually have a 8x10 of my mom when she was 22. It looks just as good as the original. So you can always go to a standard photo developing place (not Target or the like) and ask about that kind of copying as well.

I've uploaded scanned pictures to Ofoto and Shutterfly to get reprints. No problem with either one. In fact, we color corrected my in-laws wedding photos for their 50th anniversary.
