Reporting LIVE from the Contemporary

Hey everyone!!!!

I am soooo excited I just logged on to the computer in our room and there were a bunch of messages....one being a BOUNCE BACK OFFER!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited...can't you tell...especially since when we were in the park today, my DH said we are doing this every year....and start planning it now!!!!!!

Here's the details....30% off Deluxes during these dates (12/9-12/15, 1/6-2/2, 2/24-3/1, 3/30-4/12, 8/10-9/27).
40% off Deluxe Villas (Sun-Thurs 1/6-2/2, and most nights during 2/24-2/28, 3/30-4/12, 8/10-9/27)

I can't believe it..now the question is WHERE....WHEN...OMG....lol...logging on disney site now for rates lmao.....I can't believe I'm even thinking this on my 2nd day into the trip. Crazy is all I can say.

Oh...well not too crazy, since it has to be booked before we leave. So hope that gives others some good news!!!!!!

Ok...need to get to bed....with a 4:30 wake up call. Promise to post more details....

Pixie dust to all.....

Hey Everyone...about 5:30 am. Waiting for mom to get out of the shower then off we are to the Poly for breakfast and going to try and do MK today. The taping of the christmas show is today.

Upon awaking this morning, I think my brain defrosted from last night. I think I was in a brain freeze when I saw a message and a code for MEEEE....I never received one so seeing this message on the computer...must have frozen my brain :rotfl2:

Anyhows...the Bounce Back rates are good if those dates work for you. Was hoping it was a bounce back for next December...but if the dates work...the prices aren't bad. Realization kicked in with the December dates being the day after I check out lol. hmmmmm.....just add on another week at that rate....soooooo tempting.....very tempting......but I don't think my DH meant to start booking for our next trip....our next trip being the day after we leave here :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Any questions ask away...will give a more detail report when I get home...but will keep posting all week. One quick thing about Mama Melrose in MGM. We had a terrific meal. It was very good...and my daughter got an great experience. I was at the podium waiting to give my name in and I glance to my side and see one of the dance teachers from Dancing with the Stars. Her name? have no clue...she is the one who has that shaggy hair and won with Nick Lacey's (spelling) brother. So I run outside and tell my daughter and family...well before we know it...they all start coming out of the restaurant...camera camera.....my husband asked one of the guys if he would take a picture with her and he did. Then my daughter almost passed out...who comes walking out SABRINA from the Cheetah Girls....she was so star struck. She was in deep conversation with someone she was with...I was able to get a picture of her but not a posed picture. It all happened so quick that before we knew it we were looking at each other like did that just happen:lmao:

My daughter was thrilled...would have been more thrilled if we tried to stop her and ask for a pic with her...but you had to be there to realize how quick it happen. My daughter was still thrilled and immediatley called all her friends...

So no taps on the shoulders yet from Magical Wish people....but my daughter got a Magical Experience for sure!!!!!

All I can say is.....I'm tired lol.:lmao: We were out and at breakfast at O'Hana's by 7:00 am. As we are there, I can't find my DH room key that has our credit card attached to it so we can charge to the room. A little panic starts to set in, but I am the one really dealing with all the cards for that reason. He only used it once or twice. So after breakfast we go back to the CR and I go to the front desk...and it's all taken care of in less than 2 minutes...no lie. She immediately deleted the old one, issued a new one, printed me all the charges so far. All were fine and off we were to the MK.

I will post more details when I get home. But will give brief reports in case anyone wants to ask any questions while I am here.

We missed seeing the Jonas Brothers by 2 minutes after we walked in MK...spent 9-10 there....very long day. Told my DH we should take the mid break and go back. But we had the 4 pm reservations at Crystal Palace and my kids love it there. For how crowded it was we were able to do alot and never waited more than 20 minutes for a ride. Only because we utilized the Fast Passes in a great way ...actually LUCKY WAY.

Goodnight to all....I need sleep...any questions feel free to ask.
Epcot tomorrow...eating at the new Italian Restarant with the candlelight procession at 6:45. Had breakfast reservations at 8 am at GF but don't think we are making them...room service sounds better right about now...

It's good to read that they fixed the situation with your room keys very fast and considering how busy the Magic Kingdom would have been today it's amazing how little you waited for the attractions. Do you mind sharing the secret how you utilized the Fast Passes?

I forgot to ask since the taping was today, was the Magic Kingdom any more busy then usual in terms of number of guests there?

The front desk fixed my key situation. There was no one in line and the
whole process of deleting, issuing a new card, & reviewing my bill to make sure there weren't any charges I didn't make literally took less than 5 minutes.

The MK was packed!!!!!!! I had plans of arriving at opening but with our key situation we arrived about 9:30 or so. Which probably was better anyway....at that point, the lines to security weren't packed and getting in wasn't either. Missed the rush of opening people.

Let's see what we did. Oh...the day before at MGM when we were going on the rockin roll roller coaster it was down for technical difficulties. When we asked the CM will they accept our fast pass later in the day...he said as long as it's after the time on the FP they accept the FP anytime after your designated time. I was under the impression you can only come back during that one hour time slot. So I figured he was mistaken, and it would only be accepted for that ride due to the technical difficulties.

So when we were at MK, I figured let's see if he was right. So we grabbed a fast pass for Space Mountain. Then headed toward toon town for the little one. After that headed to Splash Mountain and they went on that while I grabbed fast passes for the Thunder Mt. ride. At around 11 am was only a 20 minute wait for spash....when they got off immediatley went on the thunder one....all with no rushing. All the while catching them bringing out the floats for the taping of the parade. Was able to see most of them while they brought them out here and there. Was easy to catch them since they have CM's all over with ropes...and within seconds are shoving you to the side to block off the road so the float could come through...so you can immediately see it rather than sitting all day on main street. We saw alot of the floats...just by walking around.

Mid-day started to get ungodly packed. Also due to alot of the roadways being blocked off for the parade. At one point was wall to wall people walking. Now I know the feeling when it's a holiday:scared1: We ate at Crystal Palace around 4 then around 7ish we went to space mountain with our FP and sure enough was able to use them. Our designated one hour time frame on the pass was from 11:30 -12:30 I believe...well somewhere around there. I did the same thing with Peter Pan. So whether it was me not realizing you can go anytime after your designated time...or they changed it I don't know.

Hope I didn't confuse you lol.

I forgot to ask since the taping was today, was the Magic Kingdom any more busy then usual in terms of number of guests there?

EXTREMELY BUSY!!!!!!!!! lol and alot of miserable people...it was unusually hot and humid too.

Will keep updating...so ask away...heading to Epcot.

Hi Crazy...you are going to have a great time. The gift shop is all done. It does look nice. A little congested but it looks great. Christmas decorations...I see a little more today. We are on the 7th floor bay side. ME was great other than us being last, which to be honest being last would not prevent me from using them again. It was well worth it!!!!! Luggage arrived no more than 3 hours after check in....and we didn't have to call them they brought it immediately up. Immediately brought us up our food too from our garden grocer order too.....you are going to have a great time...it's been great so far.

Hey Star: Checked into the CR this moring about 10:30 and they had a room available! I'm on the 9th floor overlooking Chef Mickey's/Concourse Steakhouse. You're right about the crowds! Went over to Epcot after getting settled in - WOW! Planning for MK tomorrow, hopefully the crowds will be better until the next weekend. Just returend from the pool and now getting ready for Chef Mickey's tonight and am looking forward to viewing two sets of MK tonight at 7:00 & 9:30. Maybe we'll pass each other in the halls!:wave2:

Hey Star: Check in about 10:30 this morning and a room was available. I'm on the 9th floor on the side of the tower overlooking Chef Mickey's/Concourse Steakhouse. You're right about the crowds. I went over to Epcot after getting settled in and boy was it crowded. Planning for MK tomorrow, hopefully the crowds will not be as bad now that the weekend is over. Just got in from the pool and are getting ready for Chef Mickey's tonight. I'm looking forward to seeing to sets of MK fireworks from my balcony tonight - 7:00 & 9:30. Maybe we'll see each in in the CR halls!

Don't know what happened! I thought the first post did not go through!

Thanks! Yes, I was quite surprised that I was able to get a room that early. Last year, it was after 4:00 before a room was assigned. CR fan, if there's anything you would like to know about what's going on at the CR this week, let me know! The decorations are minimal. They do have the Pinocchio gingerbread display up on the 4th floor instead of the 1st, I guess becasue of the construction.

Right now I don't have any questions, plus since I will be at WDW in less then 2 weeks I am planning on visiting the Contemporary. So I doubt anything big will change by then.

Hey Crazy:wave2: "neighbor"...We are on the 7th floor bay side...also overlooking Chef Micky/Concourse...lol...just look for the mom with the wild curly hair since the humidity and warm weather is doing havoc on it :rotfl2: We were in Epcot today also. We arrived there around 11 and yes...it was more crowded than I thought it would be too. Praying come tomorrow it dies down a little...and hopefully the crowds were more the locals on the weekends. Soarin was up to 80 minute wait time. Test track said 30 minutes but in actuality was more like over an hour. Ate at the new Italian restaurant, with the candlelight procession package. The food was good, not terrific but good. Have reservations there for another night but am switching. If the food was "terrific" we'd go back...the kids weren't thrilled about it...and they love italian food. The Candlelight Processional was soooo good. It was a wonderful performance...and in all honesty I don't think you really needed to do the package. There is nothing that you really need to see so close up for the show..it's all about the music. You can even just sit outside of America and still have a great time listening. Hope you have a great day tomorrow...just finishing my glass of sangria my husband grabbed for me and heading to bed. Have a feeling everyone is going to be dragging some tomorrow...hopefully not. Hope you are having a great time like we are....I'm sure you are:)

Don't forget to check your messages from front desk on your computer for the Bounce Back Offer....maybe it will work for you for a future visit.

I'll be on the lookout for you! I'm accross the concourse in a MK view room! I have ressies Thursday for Candlelight Processional. We're heading to MK this morning and then Epcot this afternoon. Looks like the weather going to get a little cooler tomorrow.

Hi Star2500, thanks a bunch for posting while in WDW :flower3: We arrive Thursday and are so excited.....can't even sleep  . How are the lines for the Candlelight Processional at Epcot? Did guest without the dining package get seated? Thanks in advance and thanks for taking the time to post while on vacation ;)

Lines for Candlelight Procession are long but the theater is deceiving it holds alot more than it looks. We had the package and that line was longer than stand by lol. They let people with packages in first. Then go to standby lane. In the worse case you can stand right outside of the theater and listen. It's a beautiful show. You will have a wonderful time:goodvibes

A little update while I am waiting for my DH to get ready. We headed to the GF yesterday to do XMas pictures there...it's really gorgeous there. The gingerbread house is amazing. Arrived at 4:10 for the Christmas Party....ate at the Crystal Palace. The night was great. We were able to do about 1/2 of the rides with minimal wait (5-15 minutes). Saw (forget the name off hand)...stage performance with Mickey next to Buzz Light Year. Hot Chocolate stands all around....WARNING...it's VERY HOT. So be careful if your kids get it. I mean extrememly hot. My daughter wanted to see Belle Story Time....that was somewhat nerve racking. Very small area....people shoving their little ones up to sit and the parents wait in the back ground. My daughter is 10 and I was afraid I'd lose her. Unless you have a little one who really loves Belle...I'd pass on this one. Sat on main street for the fireworks....wonderful. Then got some coffee and stayed right there in our spot and watched the parade front row. Was beautiful. Caught the show on the stage in front of the castle after, grabbed some pictures from photo pass. Was a wonderful night. It did get cold...by the time the parade (10:30 one) we had gloves, etc. on. It wasn't that bad though...just cold enough to feel like christmas but not unbearable...not windy.

Ok...heading off to MGM. Any questions...let me know....and anyone contemplating whether or not to stay at the CR....like I was....it was the best move we made. We are in the tower....and you can beat getting off that monorail with kids....stroller...bags...and literally walking right to your room in less than 2 minutes. I'll report on it more in detail when we get back. And anyone thinking it lacks theme....looking down to see Chef Mickey...kids seeing characters every morning right from the balcony here into the concourse....the big huge Mickey Ears from the new store....you definitely feel like you are right in the center of WDW.:goodvibes
