Report of 4th FP from app!?

This will definitely come in handy if it's still working like this in November! We have a short 2 day visit to MK & Epcot...would definitely see a lot more this way! :)

We also did this on our last trip Sept 2014. I was able to do it in each park on 4 different days. At the time I was thinking there was a glitch somewhere because I didn't read about this practice anywhere else. Now I know that is was not a glitch and actually possible to do every time!! Will try it out again in 49 days!

So is the procedure to only change the 3rd FP after you use it, or do you cancel all three after you use the final and get 3 new?

What we did was go into the app after using all 3 FP and click on "Modify my existing fp selections". Next screen we picked the date and then "change a fast pass selection" and then selected our 1st fast pass choice, picked a new one, it said something like "conflict-do you want to change this selection", clicked yes and was able to get another fast pass. Also got a 5th and 6th one same way!

I was able to book a 4th FP from my phone while in EPCOT two weeks ago, after the 3 original FP had either expired or were used. My issue is that you have to be IN the park where you want the new FP. By the time we hop to the next park and try to book new FPs, all the FPs for headliners are pretty much gone. Of course, if your 3 original FPs were super early, you may get lucky in the next park.

Lady Hiss princess:

Eddie, when you say, "Go to the app and try to schedule more Fast Passes", what exactly do you mean? On the first screen, do you choose "Choose New Fastpass+ Experience", or "Modify My Existing FastPass+ Selections"?

I'm going down in two days and am hoping I can do this!!

I just try to book new Fast Passes and that is when I get the "conflict" or whatever it says prompt. Then that is where I "cancel" existing (but used) Fast Passes and get the new ones. I suppose you could Modify Existing ... Though I have not tried it that way as of yet.

Update:
This is what I did from home:
I booked FPs this morning using my AP. I chose 3 in the magic kingdom. I waited for the last one to completely expire.
Then I went back into my MDE app and clicked on "choose new FP+ experiences" I chose the same date (today) but a different park (AK) I got an alert asking if I wanted to fix my party's conflicts, I said yes and then picked "replace Lauren's FPs with the ones I am about to choose". I picked PW, Dino and Safari and it gave me my time options.
So, in short, it worked. Of course, this was with me not actually using any of them - just letting them expire, and that may make a difference ....
Also ... If it will in fact work this way even if I use the FP's, then we can book three new FPs at a time, not just one.

Great!!!

Glad others have found this glitch/option/loophole/whatever it is and I am not the only one now. I know some were probably thinking I was crazy or explaining it wrong :crazy2:

I bet these are glitches Disney is trying to work out before going public with a mobile 4th FP+, since not everyone is having the same experience when it does work.

I'm going to try it when we're in the parks starting Sunday. I'll try to remember to report back.

There you go. I do it from the mobile MDE application in the park but what's the difference you know? And you did it for a different park for the new FP's as well. Nice job!!

Now it can also be done before the last FP time expires. Just make sure you have done all three original FP's before you change them :)

Lol - I didn't think you were crazy, but this is a message board, you know? I felt it was a reasonable enough possibility that it deserves its own thread to see if anyone else could come up with the same results...

Hahaha ... Thanks for the vote of confidence, Lauren :) Yes, I do know what you mean about messages boards as well. I'm sure there were plenty who thought I was nuts. Especially since I am a newbie to the DIS and all.

I'm definitely going to try this next week! One question, I assume since it's wiping out your used/expired FPs, you can get another Tier 1 FP at HP or EP? Assuming, of course, that there are any left available. But if so, that would be awesome!

Interesting. I guess the MDE app knows which park your MB is currently in? @LaurenT was able to book MK and then AK from App. But she was at home.

Probably not Harry Potter. But maybe DHS. ;-)

I definitely tried this in February from the app and it didn't work. But I hope it's true going forward.

Not according to what Lauren was able to do from home. I assume her MagicBands aren't on vacation without her. :)

This is nothing new btw.

I've gave this info time and time again on here. If you go to a park and notice lines are short and don't need to use any fast passes..if you're park hopping..you can cancel all 3 and set up other passes at a different park for the same day. Doesn't matter whether you change them before any are up or if all 3 have already expired.

It changes however if you use one in the first park. At that time you can only edit the following two attractions or times, but within that first park. You can't change the park for the second and third if you used the first. And that's why you were able to change the 3 to different rides at a different park, because none of the Fast Passes were used. It's been like this since the beginning of FP+ because I've done this quite a few times

My test has one big flaw in it though - and that is that all
of my FPs went unused. Things may be different if the system has you down as having scanned into the rides. But since the system also thinks my conflicts need to be fixed for FPs whose times are all in the past ... I don't think the system is that smart...
Looking forward to reports from people in the parks real
time over the coming days. I hope @notfrostyjosh can test it out next time he's in the parks...
