5/27 - DD drove us to Amtrak to catch train. Trip down was comfortable, we had deluxe sleeper and meals were fairly good in the dining car. Our attendent was never around but we didn't need him as we take train all the time and know the ropes. (his loss no tip) :(

5/28 - 22 hours later arrived in Orlando. Tiffany's was waiting with town car and the driver was super (Isabel) Wouldn't let us lift a finger to help. :)

Arrived at POR (still Dixie in my mind) about 12:30 room not ready but the requests I faxed have been approved. We are in lodge 14 in AB on the 1st floor. PERFECT SPOT for everything. :D
We have been lucky every year getting the lodge we want.
Ate lunch in food court and room was ready at 2.

DH not feelin 100% so took it easy the rest of day. Rode boat (I'm so glad it's back) to Marketplace and browsed and shopped some, had dinner at POR lounge and turned in early.
Bob is playing in lounge Thursday thru Sunday.

POFQ is reopening next week according to CM.

5/29 - Went to MK this morning. I do miss early entry. Have to go through security line before you go in turnstiles even if only bag you have is small pocketbook or waistpack. It didn't take long maybe 5 minutes, and it was very crowded. The way they are checking really doesn't make me feel more secure though they are barely glancing at your bag.

Did JC - PC - AA - TM - SmW walked up main st. (shopped) bus back to hotel, ate lunch went to pool now DH taking his nap

Any questions will be glad to answer. Haven't seen any green ribbons yet. Will write more later.

Keep looking...I know that there are green ribbons around there somewhere! :D Thanks for your report.

DW, DD and me will arrive MCO tomorrow at 3:00pm.

DD will turn 3 on the 31st. She wnated to go to small world Mexico for her b-day.

Staying at CR since SOG is closed.

Wondering about the crowd.

How long did you wait to get on attraction...etc.
Any info would be helpful.

Thanks and have a great trip! :jester:

bags -
crowds in MK very heavy in fantasyland and toontown.
80 % of toddlers in the USA are there, lol. Never saw so many strollers. We walked past that area about 11:30 and all the popular rides had 45min or more wait.

Rest of MK didn't seem as crowded. Be there at 9 when they open to get on attractions your DD will like.

MGM is crowded at night on days MK and Epcot close at 7.

Have a great time.

We had a horrible experience on Amtrak, which I wanted to share for those looking for reports and experiences.

We had 2 "Deluxe" level rooms which opened to an "On-Suite". The train departed from Newark and went down to Florida. The bathroom in both of our Deluxe rooms smelled worse than a New York Porta-toilet. I've smelled better and seen cleaner porta-toilets in Central Park in NYC. It was purely disgusting! We payed a considerable amount of money and the trip was horendous. The room was nowhere near "deluxe". The bathroom wasn't even clean--- It smelled horrible. When we asked that it be cleaned, all we got was a guy spraying some Lysol. I have to agree that the food was at least decent, rather good. But, the Accomadations, even in the Deluxe level, were far from satisfactory. I would never go by Amtrak again. We ended up flying home, the train was so bad!

I'm glad to hear someone had a decent experience on Amtrak and a good experience with the Deluxe Rooms.

Glad you had a nice trip!

Sorry you had bad experience on Amtrak. We take deluxe sleeper every year and never had problems with bathroom. The bathrooms in the coach section are horrible all the time (which is one reason we don't ride coach.
I do know that they ask you not to flush when the train is stopped in a station because everything is shut down and then you may get a back up smell. We also carry spray air freshener whenever we travel as a precautuon.

You covered my questions about the boat & POFQ, thanks!

Marketplace ???? I still call it that, just like its DL not PORS LOL

Thanks again, looking forward to the next report!
