I am a self admitted forum junkie and therefore participate in a lot of forums. What is everyone's opinion on the need to give thanks or a reply to a question answered? In other words if you ask a question and get two or three helpful answers do you feel the need to reply with a "thanks" or is that just an uncessary post that others must wade through, that fills up disk space for the host, sends an email alert that there is a new post etc.?

I always give a "thank you" when I receive responses to my questions. My thought is, after the first couple of responses give a thanks and then let the thread grow. I don't think there's a need for a 2nd thank you.

I always reply with a thanks. It lets the others know that you are reading the thread and appreciate the help as well. If I was asking for advice, then I tend to give an update so that people aren't left wondering what came of it.

I sometimes reply with a thank you.. but there are times where I get caught up in other threads that I end up forgetting... I hope they dont think that I dont appreciate it.... THANKS TO ALL lol

I reply with a thank you if I asked a question. If I just made a general comment, I try to stay in the conversation. I want everyone to know that I am happy they replied to my thread. :goodvibes
