Okay so mine aren't the scary kind of nightmare but just weird and uncomfortable.

Usually to tired to remember what I dream but when I do it always has something to do with public restrooms. Usually I'm in some place like a health club or YMCA with a pool. Start looking for the restroom and I can find a whole hall full of doors that go to these big huge enormous rooms of rest rooms but.....they either......a)don't have doors on the stalls or b)the walls seperating them are only waist high. :confused3

When I was a teen I used to have the same one over & over where I'd go up to friends and always ask this one question "if I die will you come to my funeral?"

:confused3

Anyone else have strange, scary, weird reoccuring dreams?

I'm sorry but that one about the restrooms is hilarious! :rotfl:
Usually my uncomfortable dreams have something to do with me being at school

I have a lot of the same recurring dreams many people do:

Teeth falling out
Show up for final exam and realize I haven't been to class all semester
Can't find classroom/locker

Here are my disturbing ones:

I have to use a public restroom, only I'm BAREFOOT and there is ____ and ____ all over the floor. Omg.

I'm trying to hit my mom in the face and I can't get a good hit in. <-- Isn't that horrible? I am not a violent person, I have NEVER "hit someone in the face". I cannot imagine why I dream that. I love my mom! Really!

I have 2 dreams that seem to reoccur every so often...

The first one is the "elevator dream" only not a droppig elevator, oh no, this elevator is going straight UP and and going to crash into the roof (Tower of Terror, anyone?!?!?). Sometimes the walls of the elevators come off and I am flat on the floor of the elevator looking at the sides of the elevator shaft going flying past me. I've been having that one since college.

The second one is the "plane crash" dream. It started after 9-11. I've always hated flying, but after watching those planes go into the buildings I've dreamt on and off about seeing many, many planes crashing into buildings in the city I work in/used to live in. I actually had this dream a couple nights ago, but in it I was at my mom's house and watched a plane crash into the school that is across the street. It is awful. And now, in order for me to fly anywhere I have to call my doctor and get a few ativans. I've flown 3 tims since 9-11 and they were all to get me to Disney.... a pretty good motivator! But I absolutely HATE flying and if DH would agree to drive down there I would do that in a heartbeat.

I have a recurring nightmare about being in debt and still going on vacation anyway!!

i have this one that i keep having, but its different every time.

wherever i am (high school, college campus, my apartment, my mother's house) i'm usually looking out a window( around a corner, through an open door, etc) and i see some people (maybe just one person) doing something they shouldn't be (killing someone, hiding a body, sneaking up on someone, etc) and they don't see me. but i'm worried that they will, so i try to hide from them. (i'll hide in a closet, under a bed, in an empty room, under a desk, anywhere like that, anywhere small without another way out.) and i just hope that they don't find me. i usually wake up right when i can hear/see them getting really close to where i am.

I have had the bathroom dream many times. In fact I think I had it two nights ago and each stall was filthy. Or I open the door to the stall and there is no toilet.

I have also had the elevator dream....though mine goes down and up, often quickly and I have no control as to getting the floor I'm suppose to get on. I haven't had an elevator dream in awhile.

And from time to time I do get the dream where you show up for a class unprepared for an exam.

Glad to know I'm not the only person to have these dreams.

I do love the dreams where I can fly....and I have had a weird one where I can walk forever on my hands.

Oh my gosh...I have these exact dreams! No lie!! The bathrooms I find are always bizarrely configurated, often not very private and just absolutely filthy.

In my elevator dreams, finding the elevator in the building is very difficult to begin with. It's generally small, dark and creepy. And, very erratic going up, down, all-around. I'm always terrified of it, but there are always other people in the dream getting on and off the elevator and having no problems with it and not thinking it's a big deal.

I also dream about the exam thing even though I've been out of college for 12 years.

I have the same bathroom dream. There are either no walls at all, no doors, and if there are walls, they are waist high too! Really strange!

Do you suppose this dream means we are feeling like we don't have enough private time in our lives? I have often wondered if the dreams mean anything.

I often thought my out of control elevator ride meant I was feeling out of control in some aspect of my life. But I haven't had that dream in awhile, and yet I'm still feeling a bit out of control! :rotfl2:

The first three are the exact ones I have!! I have had the teeth falling out dreams as far back as I can remember. The school ones, surprisingly, have only occured in the past 10 years or so- but I graduated from college 21 years ago!!

I 've never had any bathroom or hitting my mom dreams... :rotfl2:

OH! Forgot to add- the most frustrating and disturbing dreams I have are where something bad happens to me (someone comes to abduct me, I witness someone being hurt, or someone is going to hit me) and I try and try to scream, but no sound comes out- or just a small little whisper.

I, too, have had the bathroom dreams. When I wake up, I usually find that I have an urgent need to go. I always assumed this was the reason the bathrooms in my dream were too gross to use - sort of my mind's way of keeping my body in check. :rotfl:

There is one recurring dream I've had since I was about 6 years old. My parents still ask if I've had "the dream" every once in awhile because this one was a doozy & it usually had me sleepwalking & screaming my head off when I was a kid. Now I don't get out of bed, but still wake up screaming & clutching the covers.

Here goes:
I'm a kid & am outside in my parent's backyard playing in the sandpile. I hear a plane & look up to wave. (Our house is in a popular flight path of planes & I always waved to them when they went over).

After a minute, I notice that the sound is getting louder & louder & shriller (word?). I watch as a giant jet plane comes crashing down. It plows through my house, through the backyard, and comes to a stop nose down in our pond, wings torn off, and the tail section broken off & spun out to the left.

I run to the plane & try to help, but there is fire & smoke everywhere. Everywhere I look around are people injured, crying, screaming, with VERY graphic details about burns & limbs missing. I try & try to reach the people to help, but every time I get close another explosion goes off. Finally, an explosion hits me & I catch on fire. Just when I feel myself being burned, I jerk awake, screaming in pain. It's a very realistic dream!:scared1:

My sister (who shared a room with me when I was little) tells me that when I used to have the dream, she'd get so scared watching me just crying & screaming & running around before finally waking up. Nobody could ever get me to wake up no matter what they did. I only ever woke up after I was burning in the dream.

I don't have this one too often anymore, but it still happens at least 3 times a year.

I have had the other ones - showing up late without being prepared (for test, work meeting/presentation, etc.), elevator dropping & spinning, teeth falling out, being chased by a snake, etc. I would take these any day over the plane crash one.:sad1:

I have the bathroom dreams all the time! lol

Ultimately, I wake-up and I always have to go!

Ditto on the bathroom dreams. Always something wrong with them. Hard to find, dirty, etc. I almost always wake up and find that I need to go to the bathroom.

I sometimes have airport dreams where I can't get to a gate on time. Maybe not even be able to find it. Walk and racing through the airport. Sometimes I make it on the plane but it has safety issues.

Ahhh! The crazy workings of our brains!

When I was younger, I used to dream about some witches that lived in a tudor-style house (very popular in the 70's!) who would kidnap children and eat their toes. No, really!! And the dreams were so vivid and detailed, it just made me feel horrid.

I dreamed it over and over again until I was a teenager. I used to be afraid to go to sleep. :sad2:

About a year ago, I was walking through an area of the neighboring neighborhood that I wasn't familiar with and I looked up to see THAT house. I was frozen in place. It was EXACTLY how it appeared in my dreams!! It was even vacant and overgrown, just like I saw it as a kid!

I had to call DH to come get me. It was dusk and I couldn't walk home, I was freaking out so bad (even with my big dog with me, I was afraid of those witches!!).

But I made it home with 10 toes. :thumbsup2
