Can anyone recommend a company that would pick up drop off at Orlando airport? We have a van with a side entry ramp at home but would be open to some other type of accessible van while we are on vacation for 2 weeks.

There are some wheelchair van rental companies listed in post #2 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread. You can find the thread near the top of the thread list for this board or follow the link in my signature to get there.

We used one of the companies (nationwide ) a few years ago when our own wheelchair ramp van needed repair. It was a good experience, but when insurance had paid for it since the repairs our van needed were the result of an accident where someone hit us. Her insurance paid, so I was not aware of the cost until we looked into renting one in Orlando.
Be prepared that they are expensive!!
Renting a 'regular' van is expensive, but renting these is much more.
It makes sense when you realize they probably don't have lots of demand and the van itself probably costs 3 times more to buy than a non accessible van.

We ended up not renting one ever because of tne cost and because we were able to use Disney's Magical Express, but it's nice to know the option does exist. Just be prepared for the cost of rental, so you can plan to budget if you need it.

We've rented a couple times from Discount Mobility\Florida Van Rentals. They are very nice. It is also pretty convenient. The transaction takes place at the Hyatt in the airport. They drop off the van with the valet and you just pick it up there. We did have to wait for about 20 minutes last time because they were running behind. We probably should have called them right as we got off the plane to get a head start.

Then you just drop it back off at the valet, which is nice because the valet can help you with your luggage to the airline desk.

The vans we used were rear-entry and in pretty good shape. Overall, they are not perfect, but I would recommend them. Also, they did have the best price, about $600 for a week, before taxes and fees.

Mobility Freedom ( formerly Rainbow Vans) does rentals also. I'm not sure of the cost though.---Kathy
