Renting (Resort Removed) at 11-month window questions...

Hi, I am not a DVC owner, but have rented points/reservations several times before using this board and eBay. Sorry if my question has been asked before...

After reading several posts about needing Pixie Dust to get a (room type) Room at (resort & date) , I am interested in working with a (resort) owner who has access to the 11-month booking window.

I have read the through the numerous 'stickies' on the Rent/Trade board as well as the individual posts within.

My question is: How do I go about finding a (resort) owner if the Rent/Trade boards prohibit 'Reservation Wanted' type requests? It seems most threads on the Points for Rent/Trade board are for expiring points and last-minute cancellations.

I would appreciate any suggestions, comments or referrals to other rent/trade sites that allow 'Reservation Wanted' type requests. I would like to work directly with the actual owner of the points, not a reseller or intermediary.

Many owners will post their home resort in their Points for Rent threads. I would look through several pages of threads for an owner at that resort in which you are interested. Then you could contact them in the thread or via PM and ask if they will be renting points for your time frame.

Unfortunately, this is one of the byproducts from the recent changes. Realistically it will be too daunting of a task to read thru ALL of the postings looking for your desired time frame. What I would suggest is start reading the most current threads 12-11 months out from your desired vacation dates. For point owners, it's been more advantageous to list the points as EARLY as possible for that priority booking. I did just this with my last 3 rentals. Took less than a week, ALL of my renters were looking for home resort priority.
