renting pts vs cash ressie

We are considering a vacation at Vero Beach. We have never rented pts. What is the difference between just paying cash vs renting pts from someone? Thanks!

Renting points is usually less costly. You do it through another DVC member at about $10.00 per point. You need more money up front to rent the points and they make the reservations for you.

Cash reservations are made through Disney and will generally cost you more in the long run. But there have been some good cash deals that make it closer in cost from time to time.
