Renting Pontoon Boats

Hi!

I'm thinking about renting a pontoon boat on my next trip for better visibility for either "Wishes" or for "Illuminations". I don't want to do both - does anyone have any feedback about which would be more beneficial? I will be visiting during December, so if anyone has visited in December in the past and feels that I would be wasting my money (if I could get a good vantage point on land I would) - let me know!

We did the Illuminations cruise, it was a wonderful experience. We shared the boat with a family from the UK, which I met here on the Dis. It was a fun time.

We are doing the Wishes fireworks cruise for our next trip. We have a party of 8, so we scheduled a magical gathering.

Does anyone know how many people are on the boat for the Wishes cruise?

Also how many boats are scheduled for that evening?

I'm wondering about the size of the crowd at the Contemporary marina where we have dessert and meet Captain Hook and Smee.

I'm not sure from your post whether you are asking about Illuminations cruises or just renting a pontoon boat and driving it yourself. I wanted to make sure if you did plan to drive yourself that you know boats are not rented to guests from the marinas after dark.

RumpleMom -- The boat for the magical gatherings is a larger boat. Seems like I remember someone saying they hold around 45 people. Not sure on that one. But I've read GREAT reviews. We tried to do that one, but it was full for adults already, and we didn't want to send the children alone! LOL

But you can also do a Wishes Fireworks Cruise on the pontoon boats just like the Illuminations Cruise. We're doing that in early December. I'm looking so forward to it. I'll post back after I've done it.
