Renting Points- making ADRs?

I am renting points from a DVC member. I have not recieved the confirmation number yet, but my 180 day is tomorrow. Do I need the confirmation number to make the 180+10 reservations? Do I just inform them that I am renting points?
I emailed the person I am renting points from and have not heard back so I knew that you all would know the answer!

no you can make the reservations.

just don't give the machine a reservations number - give it your home or cell phone number - which ever is easier for you to remember.

then if you have to cancel the reservation you still have the ADR

The last two times I made my ADRs with the 180+10 method I was asked for my confirmation number....so I quickly logged into the DVC website and got it. I had never been asked before. If you make the ADR at 180 day mark it's not an issue, but I think the +10 will require proof that you are staying on property. You can certainly try and maybe the CM won't ask, but just be warned that they have been asking recently.

Want to know a secret? The cast member taking your ADR for 180+10 has no way to verify if your DVC conformation number is valid. They don't have access to DVC information. All they want to do is verify that you really are staying on property. I was told this last week by a ADR CM.
