Hi Everyone!!! My DF and I are getting married next year. We were thinking of cancelling our POR ressie and renting DVC points. We are honeymooning from Jan 6-17 2007 and We would really like to stay at the BCV or BWV. What rooms have a king or queen bed with a jacuzzi tub and how many points would we need? Also is it better to split the stay between a DVC and resort for cost? One last thing are they still letting DVC folks get the dining plan? I know this is a lot  Thanks!

To get a Jacuzzi tub in your unit, you would need to rent a 1 bedroom. Those have a king bed in the master bedroom and a full kitchen and living room with in unit laundry facilities as well. The problem is that you are planning to stay 2 full weekends, and weekend points are very high. If you switch your plans to the 10-21, your rate will be much lower, because it will be only one full weekend. A 1 bedroom at BCV is 22 points per night weekdays (Sun.-thurs) and 45 points per night for Friday and Saturday nights. That means for a stay Jan. 6-17, you would need 334 points, but by switching to Jan. 10-21, you would need just 266 points for the same number of nights. That's an aproximate savings of $680 assuming you pay $10/point.

Your future spouse is lucky (and smart) to be marrying smart enough to figure out how to rent points & get deluxe accommodations at value rates! :thumbsup2

FWIF, diane's advice is right on.

Yes, you can add the dining plan. You pay for it when you check in. Just have the person from whom you rent points put it on your reservation.

Awww thanks shellbelle!! And thanks to you too Diane! I'm really new to this so the help is greatly appreciated

Hi Diane, Since you know a lot about this I wanted to ask. Our wedding is booked for the 8th (monday) if we waited to check in on the 7th (sunday) and checked out the 18th(thursday) wouldnt that be just one weekend too?? I was just curious if we could work it out that way and still save money. Sunday is considered a weekday point right?

I'm not Diane, but you are correct. 7th-18 would be only one Friday and one Saturday night. The Disney marathon will be on 1/7, but it shouldn't impact you as long as you don't try to check into the resort real early in the morning.
