Renting Points from Disney

If I borrow say 14 points from 2022 and book my stay at the 11 month window, can I call Disney back at 7 months and rent 14 points?

Then, have them use the rented points for the contract first? Therefore, giving me my 14 points back (that would be bankable assuming it was done early enough).

Edit: I know the 14 "borrowed" points would technically not be bankable, but the other contract points could be if they weren't being used.

One time use points

What are one-time-use Vacation Points, and how do I use them?
A.
As a Disney Vacation Club Member, occasionally you may find yourself in need of just few extra Vacation Points in order to book that perfect dream vacation. You can bank, borrow and transfer from another Contract. Or take advantage of another option: one-time-use Vacation Points.
You have the option to purchase up to 24 additional Vacation Points each Use Year. One-time-use points may be used for Disney Vacation Club accommodations in the 7-month booking window. One-time-use points may not be used for Home Resort Priority. A Member may purchase one-time-use Vacation Points for Disney Collection and World Collection reservations, provided the booking window for that trip is open (for example, Disney Cruise Line reservations may be open up to 2 years in advance). One-time-use Vacation Points may not be purchased for Concierge Collection reservations.
The purchase just needs to occur at the time you're making the reservation that requires them.
  • Rates are subject to change, but currently Members enjoy a rate of $19 per one-time-use Vacation Point including taxes. That's $16.89 per one-time-use Vacation Point plus $1.89 tax (6.5%) plus $1.01 resort tax (6%).
  • You won't be able to cancel or refund your purchase of one-time use Vacation Points, nor will you be able to transfer, bank or borrow them.
  • In the event that your trip does not unfold as planned and your reservation must be cancelled, be aware that one-time-use Vacation Points expire at the end of your Use Year.

That would only work if availability for the amount of at least 14 points still existed at 7 months. OTUPs are not home resort points and cannot be used as a substitute for home resort points in a reservation made at 11 months UNLESS (like any other 7-month modification) there is still a room available during your reservation.

So, if I were to have booked a VGF studio for Jan 13, 2022 at 11 months and wanted to save 14 of those points, the only way that would work would be if a VGF studio was still available to book today at 7 months. It wouldn't matter if I wanted to use OTUPs or points from another home resort that I own.

That's what I wondered. Thanks.

I would 100% post for transfer points or contact any points resellers. You might find someone willing to transfer points even that small number.

I would avoid one time use points as much as possible

The other piece is that they would only sell them to you to book at least one night. So, at the 7 month mark, you’d have to buy as a minimum one nights worth of points in the room you wanted and then cancel what you booked.

If not, you have to cancel a night you have first time free up some points to book the new night with only 14 OTU points and keep your own points available to bank.
