Renting points + charging purchases to room?

Hello everyone,

I've never rented points before-- if I do, can the members of our party still charge their purchases to the room as we did when we booked our reservation through Disney? That feature was really helpful.

Yep, you can still charge to your room. We rented point for this past June. When you check in, the front desk will ask for a CC imprint, that's all they need to set-up charging privileges.

We just rented points to stay at VWL and we loved it. It was convenient, quiet and very Disney! We are planning to try to rent points and go back in early December. Your room key will be your credit card and we found it very convenient.

We had a great experience. In fact, it was what finally gave my DH the nudge he needed to join DVC!

As soon as our resale contract is finished (it's through ROFR!), I'll be renting out some points.

Thanks, everyone! I'm so glad to hear that it's a good way to go. And I would LOVE to nudge DH toward DVC ownership, too. I'm such a Disney-holic-- he LIKES it, but isn't as obsessed as I am. LOL.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOH YYYYYYYYYYYYYYA. Your not really charging it to your room,your charging it to your credit card that you have to give to them on check in, It';s just going through the room first. when they run your credit card at check in they are reserving $1500 off your credit card for Disney. If your charges go over they will call you and have you bring the card back and wack it again. The good thing about the system is all the charges to your room stay in house. Your card doesn't really get charged all the charges till the day you check out. Good luck and have fun

I just wanted to point out that they only take the imprint and do not take out $1500 when you give it to them at check in. They only make sure that it is an open CC account. Every resort has a different limit, and when that limit is met, they ask you to come and settle the charges.
