Hi there!

I am very familiar with the DVC and it's guidelines but am very unfamiliar with renting. Now, I am looking to book a very low budget/last minute reservation at Disney and find some of the prices kind of high. I was wondering if I can just rent points from someone who doesn't need them! :) What do I need to know? :cheer2:

most diser's are going to rent points at $10 a point.

there is one person on the dis rental who points expiry 11/05 - he might give you a bargin.

if he can.

oct/nov is the food/wine festavial - very popular with DVC - after this is Dec - and the christmas decorations/festavial - again very popular with DVC.

so don't be surprised if there is nothing unless you can leave in Sept.

If you're looking at a long weekend type of rental, even at rock bottom per point prices it will still be somewhat high. Your best bet is likely the regular room discounts with AP or similar codes.

Annual Pass, Florida Residents are the 2 most common discounts. But sometimes there are discounts for other states and even countries. AAA will also offer a discount. to to
Mousesavers and look at the info available. Sometimes Expedia, Travelocity and the like have good rates as well last minute.

When do you want to go? Availability of DVC accomodations for the rest of this year is limited. SOme weeks are entirely booked and have waitlists. If you are finding the prices of the on site WDW resorts to be high, that's probably because the discounted rooms for them are already booked as well.

If you need a low budget alternative, you might consider off site or one of the Downtown Disney Hotels. Believe some of them even have specials going on for selected nights during for the rest of this year.

Best wishes-

As Dean mentioned, unless you can take advantage of the lower point requirements Sun-Thur, it will probably be more than you expected. Also, what type of room would you require? Studios are going to be your best bet to try and economize. Good Luck!
