Hi looking for some help from those here who may have booked thru Budget.

Thought I read where it might actually cost more to do both the Fastbreak and use the coupon code they currently have Y937800??:confused3

We initially were going to book a rental for one day to get to the port for a cruise but now we are thinking of a 2 day rental. I have read that we should sign up for Fastbreak as it will make it easier when we arrive at MCO to get the car and was going to do that but thought I read here somewhere that it may actually affect the price we end up getting for the rental??

We would really like the simplest way to rent at the airport and would like to be on our way to the port quickly ---this will be on a Thursday afternoon when we arrive. But, with that said we also would like the best rate.

So, what should we do--just use the coupon code and wait at the airport longer??? Can anyone give me any idea of how long this would take if we didn't do Fastbreak?? It just seems like it would be a whole lot easier to use Fastbreak and not have to deal with a person and wait in a line at the counter but then again I don't know how much more we would be paying if we did both Fastbreak and used the coupon code.

Did I maybe read where you can call and add the Fastbreak later by phone:confused3 or...do you already have to be signed up for it before you reserve the rental???:confused3

Thanks for any and all help:goodvibes

Also meant to ask if anyone knows what time the Budget office in Port Canaveral closes on a Thursday or Friday?? We are trying to decide if we will turn in the car the night before or not ---it just depends on how late they stay open. Thanks again!!;)

Anyone have any info:confused3

Also, it seems like if I don't do Fastbreak we will be waiting in a line for hours---if this is our first time doing a rental with Fastbreak will we be able to go to the garage and not have to wait in line at the counter??

Anyone been lately and had any experience with checking in with this for the first time?? Any help is truly appreciated:)

I have noticed that for our most recent trip, adding my Fastbreak number increased the price. In the end, the difference was so significant (around $100 over a week's stay) that I took the Fastbreak number off and used just the discount code. It's a little frustrating that I will have to wait in the regular line (which can get loooooong at MCO) but the difference was just too much.

I never called, but I read another post that said someone called to add their Fastbreak number later and was told it would affect their rate.

You could book through a third party. This way your Fastbreak number is added after the rate is calculated and can not change the rate.

Some sites you could use:

http://www.travelocity.com
http://www.carrentalsavers.com
http://www.orbitz.com
http://www.expedia.com

They all have places to enter both a BCD code (at the beginning) and your Fastbreak code (at the end). You should receive two confirmation numbers, one from the company you booked with and one from Budget that ends in FAST. You can double check your rate in the Budget system using your Budget confirmation number (less the FAST) and last name. There was previous mention of a Fastbreak cancellation fee, this should not apply if booking through this method. If it does not work you can just cancel with no fee.

Thanks for the responses!!:goodvibes

mmmgood--Thank you for posting this---I wasn't aware of this option. Can you tell me anything about carrentalsavers.com?? Went on the site and I didn't see anywhere to put in a savings code and I had already gotten through maybe 3 screens or so.

Are any of the options any better than any of the others---I've never booked through a 3rd party before so I'm not quite sure how this all works??

Thanks again and sorry but if anyone could calm my fears about going this route I would appreciate it---we are needing to get this booked right away and I am back and forth about what to do??:confused3

Sure, carrentalsavers.com already includes discount codes when you hit the search button but you can add your own. If you go to the Budget page and click on the blue book button you can enter it at the bottom of the page. You enter your Fastbreak number when you enter your name.

Thousands of people book car rentals through these sites so you should not have any issues. They just pass your info through to Budget.

Yes, I am still working on this --should have had this reserved weeks ago and now I am at a complete loss as to what to do.

mmmgood---I tried all 4 websites you listed and every single one of them after comfirming the BCD code rate--will give me the special price but then when I get to the screen to enter my Fastbreak # it kicks forward to another page saying that the price goes up about $40-$50. I didn't confirm any of those because of course I want the Fastbreak checkin plus the coupon savings.

To top it all off now that I've signed up for Fastbreak---I can't even try any of the coupon codes on their site directly because they now have my Fastbreak number added every time I log in and try as I may there seems to be no way to remove it to try a ressie without the Fastbreak#.

Firstly, if anyone knows of any other way to get around this and use both the Fastbreak# and the coupon code I would love to know. I am wondering if it would do any good to call Budget???:confused3

I need to get this booked ASAP and am so frustrated with all the time I've spent online trying to get this to work---should I just suck it up and pay an extra $40 ---this is for a 2 day rental and instead of around $60/day it would be around $83/day.

It makes me mad now that I've signed up for their Fastbreak that their system won't allow me to book anything without it.:headache:

What would you all do??--Really want to stick with Budget as this will be easier for us when we return the car at Port Canaveral---but am open to any other suggestions. Thanks again all;)

I never could get it to work and I spent the better part of an afternoon on it too. :( The best I ever saw was $40 more expensive to use my Fastbreak card. My kids are a little older now, and for $40 they can entertain themselves while I wait in the line.

Well, I finally got a solution to this problem. Out of frustration and reading all the responses here of noone having any success with this I decided to call Budget with no expectations to see if they could do anything for me.

I'm posting this in hopes that maybe this will help someone else here and maybe you too Brandy! Basically I just called up Budget and told the representative the problem I was having online trying to apply a BCD coupon code and my Fastbreak number. I expressed that I was really frustrated with the online system and was wondering if there was any way they could help me. Her reponse was no problem I can help you with that:worship:---she just asked for my dates and times I wanted the car for, my Fastbreak # and the BCD code(the one I used was Y937800)--which she mentioned something about it being a corporate rate? As soon as I gave her that info she said OK your ressie is complete and the rate she gave me was exactly what I was trying to book with the coupon code!!!:goodvibes

I was a little worried as this all took place in less than 1 minute and I wanted to be assured that I was getting that rate. She assured me that the rate was secured and told me that she would even send me the email while we were on the phone so I could check that the rate was correct. Sure enough seconds later I had the email and she told me to have a great day. Well, great day it was after chasing all this around lately and I was shocked at how fast she did this and how quickly I was off the phone. Sure beats ALL the time I spent on researching this online. But, thanks to all of you here I wouldn't have hung in there and this wouldn't have happened.

Here's hoping this will work for anyone else out there trying this method. I am so excited that we won't have to wait in a 2 hour long line now just to get our car:banana:. BTW--I am also going to be on the lookout for my Fastbreak mailing to come because I think I read a post here that said someone also recieved a free upgrade coupon with their card that they were able to use upon checkin at the garage. We'll see about that and if I do I'll be sure to post. Thanks again for everyone's help --you guys are great!;)
