Renting DVC Points, Room Request

I'm renting DVC points for my SSR stay in Nov/Dec. I would really love to be in the buildings closest to DTD. Walking around the grounds doesn't bother me at all so I don't mind not being close to the lobby. Can anyone tell me how I can request this? Do I need to go back through the company I booked with to put in the request (Daves Vacation Rentals)? Or can I call Disney directly since I have my confirmation number? Thanks!

You'll need to go back to Dave's and ask them to have the owner add the request through DVC Member Services. Only the owner can make changes to the reservation, even if it's just adding a request.

This early, it'd be a good idea to go back to the company and have them request it. However, last year we rented through a private owner for BLT and I never ended up asking him to request anything, so I faxed the CR with our names/confirmation # ect. with out requests. We had 2 rooms and both rooms got what we requested- I mean perfectly. It may have just been luck, or the faxed request may have helped, so I'd def. do the fax about 3-4 days before your arrival.

The boards used to have a list of fax #'s to the resorts somewhere on here...I'd try a SS thread.

I am glad that you got what you requested. The fax may have helped, maybe not.
This "tip" was widely publicised on the internet years ago. So much so that it is reported that Disney was inundated with faxes and according to published reports (allears.net for one),they totally stopped looking at them. Faxes went directly to the "circular file" - i.e. the waste basket. This is why you no longer see the fax numbers readily appear.
The best way to have requests noted is directly on the reservation itself. You need to go back to Dave's and ask to have your request noted on your reservation.
Renters can not contact Member Services directly.

DVC has requested that faxes are not sent to the DVC resorts. Any request should be noted on your reservation.

will if you check in online you could wait until then - but would go ahead and get dave (or the person he is renting for) to add your request now.

all request for views, building, etc are never guaranteed per Disney/DVC.
