Anybody know of the best way to get a good deal on renting for a month of a compact or intermediate car in Orlando in January 2004?
I just booked a rental home for 4 weeks. Last time we were in Orlando it was dec. 2001.
I would think there may be a break for weekly or longer term rentals.

Exactly how long will you be renting the car? Most agencies have what's called a mini-lease for 30 days ... Budget had been doing a lot of advertising for theirs, something like $600/month.

Also, don't keep the car longer than 30 days ... it could create insurance problems with whatever insurance you already have (and I don't think most agencies will let you keep a car longer than 30 days anyway ... even on the mini-leases they make you exchange the car every month).

I only need transportation for 28 days, didn't know about a mini-lease, thanks! I will check it out.

Rental car companies do offer monthly rates which are much cheaper that 4 times the weekly rate. I used to travel frequntly and often held a car for a month.

I am going to try Rent a Wreck and see what they have to offer, apparently what they rent is only a year or two old and are in excellant shape.
