Renting a VRBO for the day in Nassau?

I just came up with this idea and wondered if anyone had tried it. What If I rented a condo with beach access for the day we are in Nassau? I'd probably have to pay for two nights, but I'm seeing some on VRBO with nice private beaches or pools for pretty decent prices that make them competitive with other excursions. I wondered if anyone here has tried this in the past? How was it? I know I'd need to get myself to and from the place and take some food for lunch, anything else I'm not thinking of?

I would be afraid of how much time I would lose just handling the logistics...sometimes vacation rentals are a more robust "check in" process than a hotel room, between checking in & getting the key; some properties require verifying condition of the room w/ property management (both arriving & departing); getting food, cleaning the room back up before leaving.... Seems like a lot of messing around to me..

I think it has promise as long as you think about the things the previous post poster mentioned. It would be ideal if you could find a place that has keypad entry so that you do not need to stop somewhere for a key.

Why not just get day passes for the British Colonial Hilton? It's just a short walk from the port?

Another fab idea! I'm just trying to think of different options, but that one might be the winner. Thanks!

If you are a Hilton person, you can also book a night at their hotel on points for possibly less than multiple people using the day rate depending on the size of your party. This also gives you a shower and a place for kids to nap. We did this a couple years ago, it is easy to walk from the ship to the hotel, maybe a half mile and it was safe and there were sidewalks. The beach is very small but nice and there is a pool and a bar as well, although the drinks at the bar were outrageously expensive.
