Ds would like to rent or buy good lens for wider angle. L lens i think he said 18-70 or80 72? Mm he has a Canon D 60. Do you know of anywhere in Orlando to rent, delivery to hotel. We were going to rent from Adoroma but are driving, losing days in the bag. Will anyone mail to off site DTD area?
This rate was $40 week.TIA

I just posted an almost identical question this morning, but not on here!

How many days are you going for and do they do a weekly rental rate? The longer you take it the cheaper it usually works out per day. I am kind of stuck as I need three weeks but it's still a darn side cheaper than buying a lens I can't afford!

I will let you know if I get any other feedback from my question earlier

However I have opted not to have anything shipped to the resort. In the unlikely event of problems, it is easier for me to deal with from home.
How long do you need it for and what is the cost for 2 weeks? You need to be specific about the lens you want to rent as they are all priced differently depending what you get.

You have a few options. Locally, there's a place called TheLensDepot.com in Oviedo, FL (closed weekends). You can also rent online from LensProToGo.com (I use this one) or BorrowLenses.

There are times when you don't want to buy a lens, but you need it for a trip or a project. That's when I love these places. After I discovered I was renting the Nikon 14-24mm lens three times, I knew it made sense for me to buy it. Other lenses - maybe not so much.

Generally, these rental places send it to your home before a trip. You have it for a period (1 week, 10 days, whatever). When the time is up, you put it back in the packaging along with the shipping label that came with it. Everything is all one price - at least that's my experience with LensProToGo.com.

If you can get your hands on it a few days early, it will give you the chance to practice a bit before leaving.

Have fun and I hope you get some great shots!

I rented a fast zoom last year for my son's graduation. I'm really glad I did. I got some great shots, and after carrying it around for the afternoon, decided I didn't really want to OWN one as bad as I thought I did! :lmao:

I just rented the Canon 24-105mm IS from Borrowlenses.com last night for our upcoming trip this summer. After reading these boards I have convinced myself that I NEED this lens. However, its not in the budget. I'm getting it a few days before we leave so I can practice a little and will send it back from a location close to the resort. If I like it enough I may have to start saving to buy my own. This is a great way to try out a nice lens without a huge investment. Good Luck!

Thanks for all the helpful information, I will check them out now. Yes, thanks if you receive more information on the thread you have going too.

Think it will work our fine to ship to home have it the day before we leave, then return the day we get back, or send it as we drive out of Disney.

DS has the Canon, I bought the Sony SLT33, should have bought the SLT55 with the same lens I ended up buying, 18-200 IS. I bought the 33 with the two lenes, 18-55 55-200 instead thinking I would have less weight to carry around. But, on advise here, I was told about 2 different walk around lenses for Disney. I bought the Tameron 18-200 is, and love it. $260 vs Sony $500+. Oh, and it had 5 yr warranty not 1 yr.
Did not break the bank, and great bang for photos of varying types and settings.

There is one of two ducks at Animal Kingdom kissing like a heart shape, picture purfect shot thanks to the lens.

This forum rocks, I love seeing the photos, and hearing all the helpful information. Just started myself on manual, but taking the Panasonic Lumix as my back up for scrap book photo making.

One day, I want to spend taking photos on my own as the family does their dis thing. Find spots, and angles, play with settings to entertain myself. More then phots of dd with characters. Although, I do have some real nice shoots of them.

I've rented from cameralensrentals.com 3 times as they are a nice group of people to deal with. A nice variety of rental options and rental time lengths.
You even get 10% off your first ever rental I believe

Before my Disneymoon, I rented from rentglass.com. Their prices were the best I could find for the lens I was renting.

I'm renting a Canon 17-55 2.8 IS lens from LensRentals.com for my trip in June. I've used them many times in the past, and love their service.

I've used rentglass.com and their equipment is clean and in good shape. I live close enough I don't have to deal with shipping though, I just schedule a pickup time and go get it :thumbsup2
