Renting a car on site

I don't know if this is the right place for my question... We are arriving in June for a 3nt. stay at the CR. We will be flying, so we paln on using the DME. However, we will be staying a week at our off site timeshare when we checkout from the CR, so we will be needing a car. Is there a place that we can rent a car from Disney, and are the prices about what you would pay at the airport. I'm assuming we can't use the DME when we leave, but can we return our car to the airport, rather than disney. Thank you for your help.

There is a rental at the Car Care Center by MK I think, and then someone said there's one in one of the DTD hotels. Alamo or National I think.


However I will tell you I rented a car at the airport (MCO) last year and returned it to a different site (Naples airport) and they charge extra for returning in a site other than original rental site. So check that out for sure.

We rented a car at the Car Care Center by the MK in 2007. Its Alamo/National, and we got a really good price. Also, they will send a shuttle to your resort to pick you up when you are ready to rent your car. Just call ahead and set up a pick-up time. You can return the car at the airport, but I am not sure how that affects your price. I know at the Alamo or National website, when you make a reservation, you can specify that you will pick up at Mk and return at the airport - the price they quote is then based on that info.

I believe there is also a rental car location at either the Swan or the Dolphin, but I am not sure what company this is.

We've rented a car the last two trips to Disney from Alamo at the Car Care Center and had great service and got a great price. We'll be going in June and renting again. Although the buses are nice, we like to come and go without waiting.

We returned in to the center so I'm not sure about a fee to return it to another location. I would be interesting to know if this is true since I'm thinking about returning the car to the airport this time.

We are also renting a car from the Car Care Center at the end of our Disney trip. We will be returning the car at MCO airport. I got a great deal as a member of the National Emerald Club. There is a link on the Mousesavers web site for a free membership to the Emerald Club. I called the Emerald Club number and was told that since the Car Care Center is a small rental agency, I will not get the perks (skipping the rental counter, picking from the Emerald Isle), but I still got a great discount.

I priced out renting from MCO to MCO for our whole trip VS renting from CCC to MCO at the end of our trip and the CCC to MCO was 200.00 cheaper.

I have also heard that you can take a Taxi from your resort to the CCC for around 5.00 from the Poly. A faster option as the shuttle often has multiple stops.

You should check out the price to rent it at the airport. You might get a better weekly deal and you would be retuning to the same place you picked up.

We were going to rent on property but the prices were almost double what we were being charged at the airport so were picking up at the airport and dropping off at the Swan/Dolphin and the price is the same weather we drop off at the airport or Swan/Dolphin.

I hae a similar, but slightly different scenario to ask about. We will be arriving on a Sunday and staying offsite for that night until we check in at BCV on Monday. I was thinking of renting a car at MCO on Sunday, then making a grocery run on Monday am before checking into BCV. Is there somewhere on property i can drop the car off after a 24 hour rental? Thanks!

As long as you rent from Alamo, National, or whatever-company-is-at-the-Swan/Dolphin, you will be good to go!

When you make your reservations, just for example at Alamo/National, specify a pick-up at MCO and a drop-off at the Car Care Center at MK. Then, a couple of days before your arrival, call the CCC and let them know when you will be dropping off and ask for a shuttle back to BCV. They will get you all taken care of.
