Renting a car from WDW to home...

We are taking Amtrak from home to WDW. DM is terrified that we will have a miserable trip down and then spend our vacation dreading the train ride back. I told her that I felt certian if it was that bad, we could rent a car and drive home.
Has anyone rented from WDW-home, one way? We're staying at Pop Century.

No, I have not, but, it can be done and Alamo and National are having a sale on one way rentals.
