Renting a car at WDW, returning at MCO?

We are planning on using Magical Express form MCO-WDW Dec 15, 2006. Then after 11 nights in WDW, renting a car at WDW (from the car care centre), and then driving to St. Petes for 5 nights. Then drop the car off at MCO (instead of WDW).

Questions:
1. Is there usually an additional drop off fee to return the car at MCO (vs. WDW)?
2. What rental agency would you recommend in WDW and why? We would only be interested in an economy for 5 days (Dec 26-31).
3. Does anyone have any idea what a fair rate (base rental rate) for an economy for these dates would be.

Any tips/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Both National and Alamo offer rentals as Disney's Car Care Center (located just outside the main entrance to the Magic Kingdom Parking Lot). Typically, neigher one will charge an additional drop off fee to return the car to MCO. In fact, the rate is often lower at the Car Care Center and there is no airport concession fee added to the rental (as the concession fee is calculated on the rental location, not the return location). Go to each vendor's website and put in your dates with the different rental and return locations. For discount codes, look to the travel pages on www.mousesavers.com.

Book those dates early! They sell out and get expensive. I would book in December 05 or January 06. Just keep checking and you can always rebook if a cheaper rate comes out. However, last year most codes were not valid during those dates.
