We just got back from a 9/3 - 9/10 vacation to WDW. We rented a 4 bed/3 bath vacation home in Indian Creek and absolutely loved having our own pool home.
We have previously stayed at Wyndham Bonnet Creek (2 and 3 bedroom), Windsor Hills (2 bed condo and 3 bed townhouse) and Mystic Dunes (2 bedroom).
Our traveling party was myself, my husband, our three year old, our 9 month old, and our nanny. (We don't typically travel with our nanny who watches our kids during the work day, but we decided to "gift" the trip to her in exchange for some help with the kids on the trip--best decision EVER.)
It was fantastic having four bedrooms. Our master bed and bath were huge--we each had a big vanity and sink in the bathroom, a separate room for the toilet, a stall shower and a big tub that the kids loved taking baths in. Down the hall were two small kids rooms where each kid had their own room--just like at home, and there was even a full size baby crib. Baby slept GREAT which is such a blessing on vacation. On the other side of the home, our nanny had her own bedroom with a king bed and private full bath which she loved for some alone time.
Most of all, we liked having the big pool to ourselves. On our off days or afternoon park days, we would all get in the pool when the baby was down for her afternoon nap (then pop the baby in the pool for 15 min or so when she woke up)--then go directly from the pool to the master bathroom to give the kids baths while we took turns showering. We do love big resort pools as well, but with a napping infant, having a pool home was ideal.
The home was not perfect--there was no water in the hot tub, the washing machine broke towards the end of our stay, some of the binds didn't work, and a handful of other issues. However, we are definitely sold on the idea of booking a private pool home for the next few years. Once the kids are old enough to not need a stroller, not need naps and carry their own gear down to the resort pool, we might go back to timeshares, but for now, this was a great option for us.
