We were thinking about renting a 2 bedroom villa for two nights prior to our cruise next April. It would be a Friday and Saturday night, and I know those are more expensive nights. When I priced it on David's it said I should pay around $1200 plus for the two nights. Is that correct? It seems high so I thought I would ask on here. We have 4 kids so a 2 bedroom is really our only option. Is it just because a lot more points are needed for 2015? It isn't Easter, so I don't think that is a factor either. Also, I don't have a particular resort that I want to stay at so it isn't like I am picking the most popular one. Thank you so much for any help you can give me.

In April, most of the two bedroom villas require anywhere from 46 to 76 points per night. Multiply that by two and then by the nightly fee for renting and you have your price. April has the second highest number of points required because it is considered Magic Season. Easter would be even higher.

You could save money by booking two value resort hotel rooms or two moderate resort hotel rooms.

Thank you. I guess I will wait until we are closer then and look into AOA or the cabins at Fort Wilderness. Thank you again for your help.

While renting a DVC 2BR villa from a DVC member is far more economical than renting the same accommodation thru Disney, there may still be less costly options depending on the resort you choose.

You might be able to find someone who had time they weren't going to use or points that would expire and they would be willing to rent them for less. It might not work out but it's worth a try. Disney in general during that time is expensive. Another option might be off property.
