Rental request wait time

I just put in a request to rent points for our May 2014 trip through David. Now it's just a matter of waiting to hear if they are able to secure a reservation for us. I know it says on their website that they are usually able to secure a reservation within 24 hours; I was wondering how long some of David's other customers have waited before hearing if they were successful or not. We rented through him in July of 2012, but I cannot remember. It's so hard being patient!

You are more than 7 months out, I wouldn't expect anything soon unless you are looking at renting at OKW or SSR.

Owners can't rent at anyplace but their home resort until 7 months out. That limits availability at the tougher to get resorts before then.

Like was mentioned you are outside the 7 month window which limits points to people's home resort.

We had to wait about 5 days for 11 month out for them to get the points. So you might have to wait for a little while.

David's makes their money by getting people to rent their points so they are going to try hard to find the points.

Since you are further out than 7 months (when all points are good at all resorts), you need to find a point owner at the resort you wish to stay at that wants to rent out their points, and has enough points for your stay.

For example, if you want to stay at BLT in June, David has to find a BLT point owner who wants to rent out their points. They also have to have enough points available to reserve the stay that you are requesting.

As PP stated, they try really hard to find DVC members who want to rent out their points, so hopefully, he will find an owner quickly who is able to make your reservation.

Thanks for all the feedback. I have heard from David's team and they were already able to secure our first choice (standard view studio at Boardwalk Villas). We're so excited. I feel especially lucky that as you said we were able to reserve something further than seven months out. David's service is great!
