just wondering if anyone can guide me on how to rent points?

does the owner of the points make the reservation for me?

How are you assured that they will not change them back into their name?

How are you sure you are not being scammed for money?

I have been a DVC member since 2000. I love DVC..... I would love to rent more points but am very skeptical about this transaction. Can anyone reassure me???

If you are already a DVC owner, you can rent points for transfer into your account. The points are supposed to retain their original resort/use year characteristics, but other than that, they are no different from your other points. Doing that, you have complete control over the rented points and no risk. It is also much easier and less risky for the DVC owner you are renting from.

No doubt about it, when you rent points there is a risk. Having the points transferred into your account can reduce the risk. No matter how you do it, there is still an eliment of trust involved. Most renters will require payment before putting the reservation in your name or before transferring the points. Sometimes the points cant be transferred due to limitations. We just recently had to rent 4 points (small amount, I know) and had luck getting them from checking the appropriate board on this website.
