Rental question

So I am renting points from a friend for a vacation at the VGC. I have a couple questions. Since I am renting at the Grand can I call and use vacation planning if I have a confirmation number? In the past I have used vacation planning to help me with things like an in room celebration, dining reservations, tickets for Fantasmic desert seating, tours etc..... Will I still be able to do this as a DVC renter?

No. You are renting from your friend, and not from Disney. Your friend has now become your Vacation Planner. You can, of course, link the reservation number to your Magical Experience account to make dining reservations and the like. Also, you can use the normal dining number to book tours or dining.

DL operates a bit differently than WDW and you might be able to. Best thing would just be to call and ask.

Thanks Kat, I have heard that DL is different when it comes to DVC. I'll try to call them tomorrow.
