Hi all. I am looking at renting points for a trip in May 2009. Since it is nearing the 11 month window, I need to seriously start making plans.

Right now, it looks like it will be a solo trip as DH says he does not want to go, but knowing him, there is a chance he will change his mind. When I go to rent points, can I have the owner make the reservation with just me and then add DH later if he changes his mind?

Names can be changed on a reservation up until check-in. This is one of the reasons you should be very comfortable with the member renting you the points. The member could change the name the day before you arrive without you knowing it. Similar to an e-bayer not mailing you the pkg after you pay for it. Its all about trust on both sides of the transaction.

Yes. In fact, as long as you don't exceed the maximum occupancy for the room, you could even add your DH at check in. That assumes you won't be using Magical Express or one fo the Dining Plans (if either or both are still available in 2009). In that case, you really need to have the renter make those arrangements several weeks ahead of time.

To cover your bases, I'd have the reservation in your name and DH's name right from the start. That way, there would be no need for the member to be involved. There will be no problem at check in if you are one party short. The only issue then would be if you were taking the dining plan - you would not want extra names on the reservation since it would cost extra.
