Rental cars and Debit Cards

Ok--we are only planning on taking our debit card w/ us on vacation. Will we have trouble renting a car from National? We will have return flights--however our tickets were bought over the internet so I wont have ticket to show them for return flight--just an email confirmation. Is this good enough???

A few things you will want to find out...

1. Will they put a hold on your account? How much? They can hold your cash!

2. Will they do a credit check? That may or may not bother you.

Also, will you home insurance cover you or will you need to buy insurance? I use my Diners Club because it is primary insurance and no claims would ever appear on my personal insurance!

I would think the internet print out would work as confirmation of the return.
