Rental car sizes

Are the estimates given on the websites like Dollar and Alamo accurate? We will be getting a rental car for our upcoming trip and this will be he first time not using Disney transportation. Two adults, one infant, two large suitcases, a stroller, a couple of carryons, and some medical equipment all need to be packed in. We should be good if the large suitcases and stroller all go in the trunk. I currently have reservations with Alamo for a standard (since it would be full size at MCO) and a mid size SUV. Would the SUV really only hold 3 suitcases while the full size can hold up to 5?

I've thought about keeping both reservations until we get there to make sure everything fits like we need. Is that doable? Can they cancel the second reservation after we get set with our vehicle?

I would phone them up and ask them what vehicle can they expect from the SUV category. If it's a tiny Ford Escape.... I would be changing my reservations.

I think you'd be ok with either of those. You could stand the suitcases up in the SUV with the stroller next to them. Depending how big the suitcases are you can fit a lot in a full size trunk too. What are you driving to your home airport?

The funny thing is that I drive a sub-compact (Honda Fit). All of our stuff fits fine in my car, both suitcases and stroller in the trunk. Carryons and stuff in the car with my son in his car seat and wife up front. We try to do use my wife midsize car and we don't come close to having everything fit, hence reserving a full sized car and mid size SUV.

Does anyone know if I check in online for the full sized, try it and it doesn't fit, will I be able to go to the kiosk (or desk if needed) to use the SUV reservation?
