I'm still not sure if I'm going to rent a car for our August trip. I've only ever rented a car to drive to the port for a cruise. My first question is if you rent a car how/where to you get directions and is it difficult finding your way around? We will be staying at the Wilderness Lodge. My second question is, do they give you a "grace period" when returning the car and how long of a grace period is there. Our flight lands at MCO at 12:30pm. Our flight home doesn't leave until 4:45pm. When I enter 1pm as our pick up time and 2:30 as our drop off time we get charged for extra hours which drives (no pun intended) the price up. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If you rent a car you can get directions at the rental agency. They give you maps and I think there are even printed (written) directions to the disney resort. I haven't used a map for a while, but I am sure they can give you specific directions if you ask them. To me, it isn't hard to get around Disney and Orlando at all. But again I have been going there (and driving around there) for many years now.

Rental agencies do give you a 'grace period' for dropping off cars. In many cases I think it is only 59 minutes. You may want to check with the rental agency you are considering. If your flight arrives at 12:30, maybe you can dally around the airport before picking up the car for 1/2 an hour or something like that and pick up the car closer to 2PM. I know most people are anxious to get on with their vacation though. :) Good Luck.
