Rental Car Closed?

We are trying to book a rental car to drive from our Disney resort to port the day of our cruise and since it's Sept. 1st, I'm getting the message that they are closed! Since when do rental car companies close on holidays? Especially one of the most travelled holidays of the year!

Is anyone else having this issue? How are you getting to port?

What about picking the car up the evening before? As long as you turn it in within 24 hours you should only have to pay for 1 day.

Many times "satellite" offices are closed for holidays, as well as having shorter hours in general.

We are also on the Sept 1st cruise. We booked with Budget and they are open until noon for returns. They're closing early.

We're picking up from Budget on September 1st at Cape Canaveral. As we'll be picking up around 9:00 a.m., I'm assuming we're still okay since it's open until noon. Can someone confirm?

If you put your pick-up time in the system and it allowed it, you'll be okay. When I put a return time of noon, it gave me an error.

We had the same problem. We will be coming home from the EB Panama Canal cruise that day and thought it was easier to use a rental car to get home to Orange Park, FL than inconvience people to get our car to the port.

I had to play with the dates and times and Avis had a mini-van (need room for all of our stuff) on Monday morning. We will have to drop off on Tuesday since that location is closed for the holiday.

I was surprised that they were closed on Labor Day - most everything else is open that day!!!

Like everyone else has mentioned it may just be a time thing....Its not all offices though because we are picking up on the Morning of the 1st at the Port Canaveral location and dropping at the airport....If the WDW office is closed maybe the airport would be an option for pickup....
