hi all
i just started checking rates for 2/19/05-2/26/05 for an intermediate.

national is quoting $483!!! i've tried just about every code but it doesn't seem to help.

alamo was just as scary.

dollar seemd to at least have more reasonable rates(compared to those)--about $200 total.

this seems like a lot for 1 wk (i know it's school vacation and president's week)

any suggestions?
thanks

Check Budget. I used a Wal-Mart code from mousesavers.com and came up with $154.46 for your dates. Budget is off-site, so you'd have to decide how much more you're willing to pay for on-site convenience.

It's still way too soon for good rates. If I were you, I'd make a reservation with Dollar as a backup and then check rates periodically until you go.

Since I have a Budget van reserved for next February, I checked the Orlando International Website to see whether it was on or offsite. Budget is listed as being onsite.

Thanks for pointing out that Budget is on-site! I just updated my spreadsheet to remind me of that. Makes me appreciate my 10 day rate of $250 for a full-size next March even more. They do seem to be the lowest price for next Spring so far.

$204 for a 11 day intermediate emerald aisle rental. Used the Entertainment coupon and a code that escapes me at the moment. I made the reservation on Tues night!!!

Now all I am hoping for is to see an SUV, Minivan or full size car!
If I see it, I will do the Emerald Aisle sprint. This sprint is being taken into consideration for the '08 summer olympics!!!!

when did you book this for? I'd love to get a great rate like that for my Feb / March trip.

thanks for your help. how is budget with lines? i was looking into dollar, alamo and national so i could avoid standing in line.

thanks again

Unless you are a member with these agencies, you will stand in line, with some exceptions like National's quick rent, but, then you cannot use a coupon.

Don't know if you mean Emerald Reserve (or Emerald Aisle) - but you can use any coupon without stopping at the counter with the exception of upgrade coupons.

snacky stacky

think with quick rent you do not have to be a member of Emerald Club but can bypass the counter if you meet certain requirements

http://www.nationalcar.com/servlet/DocHandler/index.html?a99af81da4206c72

would guess a quick rent would just be for the car class you have requested ( although in reality that would be like Emerald Reserve with the exception they would not have your profile in the computer )

looks like you enter that information on the quick rent screens so it will then be available to the booth check out agent ( name address licence and cc info etc )

looks like it is something they are "toting" on the website and in commercials

snacky,
This is what I was referring to.

QuickRent Rental Requirements and Exclusions

QuickRent is not available with reservations that contain the following:

• National coupons
• Special equipment such as child restraint seats, cars equipped with hand controls and ski or luggage racks
• Central Bill numbers
• Reservations over 30 days

was $204 and it is from Sept. 22-Oct. 3. Intermediate size , emerald aisle. Crossing my fingers for an SUV/MV, or full size. Although at that rate, who can argue?!?!?!?!?

alamo dec 11-19th rate of 197.22 which i think is awesome i would spend more on cabs, shuttles and towncar
