Renewing Annual Passes with DVC discount

Hi - we have never done this before and I have been looking around the internet for ages and can't work out how to do this. Has anyone done it recently and can advise? We would be very grateful

What is your specific question - I didn't really understand.

The basic way is to take your APs to a guest relations window at the parks or DTD and say you want to renew - show your DVC member card and your ID and give them payment.

You can also purchase a renewal voucher from DVC member services but you still have to do the steps I said above, except you have prepaid for your voucher.

Renewals can be done +/- 30 days of your AP expiration date.

I know you can order a renewal voucher online, but have not done it - and I don't know if you can do it through DVC member services on line. I will let someone else answer that part.

BUT ... the rule of thumb is that if you are not going to the parks for 2 months or more after your APs expire, it is not cost effective to renew your passes - you should just purchase new ones next trip. That is what our DIS ticketing expert/CM Cheshire Figment always says - I have never really tried to think too hard about it, but you should probably give that some thought.

I did this a few weeks ago thru dvc memb svcs and they gave me a conf number to give to guest relations. I did have to pre pay.

If you want to renew, depending on when your current pass expires, you might be better off getting a new pass in October. If your pass expires in June, your renewal will have that renewal date and you will lose those extra months. It my opinion, $30 is not enough saving to warrant losing 3 or 4 months of pass usage. If it expires close to October, then it would be worth to renew.

I remember one year we renewed on the disney.com website. It was pretty easy and they just sent us a new voucher. Then we just took that to member services I believe at Epcot and was able to get the actual pass. If I remember correctly, if you do it on disney.com, it will ask for your DVC number.

i called MS over the weekend and it was really simply. now, i just have to pick them up at Guest Relations when i get there. you do need to prepay, as pp stated.

I just renewed our AP with member services last week. We are not going until October but with the rumors of an impending price increase plus the discount on a renewal I decided it would be worth it even if we lose a few months. At least this way we won't have to pay the higher price until next year. They gave me a will call number and I will pick up the new passes at guest services. They were $398 with tax.

I've renewed through the AP website a few times and it was easy. Once you register your AP on the AP site, it does recognized that it is a DVC AP, so offers you the correct renewal price. I like doing it this way because they email you a confirmation voucher to print, but you can reprint just in case you misplace it.

We have APs which we purchased last December at WDW by upgrading some cast member discounted (my son is seasonal) 3 day passes. We had also closed on our DVC resale a couple of weeks before, but had not received our membership cards before our NYE trip.

When we go to renew these APs, what process should we follow to get the DVC renewal discount?

Show them your blue member card, ID for everyone 18 and over and your credit card - at any guest relations window.
