Remy BG

I think that is a sign that capacity and demand aren't that far apart. Of course, once ILL$$$ starts they might no longer be available at 2pm.
Do we really think a significant amount of people are going to pay for Remy if it’s so easy to get a BP? I can’t imagine enough would to make a significant difference. Just speculating of course.

Except that Disney controls how many VQ slots are given out. I think many are planning to try for a VQ and if unsuccessful then buy the LL$ for Remy. Disney could easily reduce the number of VQ slots from what they give out now to just a very few, in order to encourage more purchases.

That’s the scary part - clearly right now the ride has enough capacity to match demand and allow people that really want to get on the ride a BG. Disney wants to monetize rides so does anybody believe this won’t go hand in hand to ensure the free vs paid options aren’t skewed to ensure this happens ? It’s just so frustrating even thinking about it with this greedy system when Disney holds all the levers.

And then it would snowball. So glad we aren't going until February.

Since Paris had to lower the price on their version of ILL$$$ recently because of low demand. Ponder that, Disney lowered a price. So, in my head I'm counting ILL$$$ rides as Standby only, except for Remy.

How flexible are they on late arrivals? We arrive this Saturday and have Epcot park reservations (need to activate APs): if I get a BG but our flight is late, is it worth trying to board after our group was called?

thanks!

Definitely worth trying. No guarantees, but they seem to be pretty lenient with times.

Is the 1 pm still available later in the day? I had read reports of them still available at 2 or 2:30. Does that still happen?

Yes - seems like they go faster on the weekends but last longer during the week. Some days lasting until 2 or later.

Tried from home this morning when waking up early to head to the airport since we’ll be on the plane and obviously not tapped in for the 1 o’clock drop. Seemed way easier than ROTR. I got BG 33, which I’ll miss. I was hoping for a higher number so we wouldn’t miss our time. TBD if they really are lenient on return time. I’ll report back.

ETA: 6 hours late. They didn’t blink an eye. People behind us did not have a BG and they had to step out.

Thank you for the update! We might try tomorrow: if we ride we ride and if we get turned away well we have 9 more days.

I wouldn't be surprised if the VQ goes bye-bye soon. (As we saw with Rise.)

Two visits to Epcot this week: Wednesday we had a park reservation for Epcot & joined the VQ at 7am. I was actually hoping for a later BG, because we had a late night on Tuesday, but we got BG10. Stuck with our plan to have a slow morning, our BG was called pretty much right after park opening, and had no issue riding after our “window” a couple of hours later.

yesterday we hopped to Epcot &joined the VQ as soon as they let us in at 1:45 (oldest DD arrived late Wed night & wanted to try to ride). Got a “backup” BG, 181. It was called late in the evening, I think around 9 pm, but we were at the R&C for the fireworks dining package, so we couldn’t ride.

I anticipate it going away sooner than RoTR did, probably around the time Cosmic Rewind opens and that becomes VQ
I think it will be gone much sooner than that. Why would they give away free BGs when they can charge for a ILLS pass? It’s all about the $$

That only works if people actually buy the ILL$$$. Since the 1pm BG's have been available for a long time, and it is a high throughput ride, I don't see that being an issue. The people that buy ILL$$$ won't be buying a spot. They will be buying the ability to schedule and know they can get on Remy even without a morning Epcot reservation.

I just went yesterday and my boarding group was 9 and the group I was with had boarding group 107, so we waited til 107 was called and they let us all in together. I even asked cause I was worried about it and they said you could be late just not early.

I want to make sure I understand the second chance at getting a BG

You have to have scanned into the park in order to try for the second BG drop. Second drop happens at 1:00.
But you can’t park hop to Epcot until 2:00

It doesn’t seem like that hour delay is hurting hopper too much? Am I getting this right?

thanks!

Is single rider an option yet? If it’s open I’m sure a BG would be needed, but just wondering if that’s an option for a shorter wait after your group is called.
