I read something about a Remy character thing (maybe an audioanimatronic?) that appears at Chefs de France between 12:30 and 6:00 each day. I can't remember where I saw this and now I can't find it again. Can anyone verify this and give more details? TIA:)

Hi,

From allears:

Les Chefs de France restaurant As of March 9, guests who dine are being treated to a unique kind of entertainment, allowing them to meet the culinary rat Remy, from the movie Ratatouille. Remy is an Audio-Animatronics puppet who, along with the restaurant maitre d' (a comedic actor), engages guests by performing a series of humorous, theatrical vignettes, using a moving food cart with a silver-domed cheese platter as their stage. Remy can make a variety of noises and comes across as a living, breathing little character with a point of view all his own. The Remy Cart was conceived by WDI Research & Development with support from WDI Creative Entertainment. Remy can be seen 12:30 - 6 p.m. at Les Chefs de France through September 5, 2009. (Remy can also be seen at Disneyland Paris where he's been entertaining guests since last summer.)

That's it! Thanks Bob. I was beginning to think I had imagined the darn thing. So has anyone experienced this yet? Sounds like it would be really cute but I'm wondering if getting to see it is kind of a "luck of the draw" thing - meaning having to be lucky enough to get just the right table or being seated in a certain section of the restaurant.:confused3 I've never been in Chefs so I can't really picture how they would do this.

I was at Le Chefs for dinner on Thursday. Remy was nowhere to be seen until the table he was on was wheeled back into the kitchen. I never got a glimpse of him, only the chef, table, and covered plate he was on. :(

This sounds like something my son would really enjoy. That is, if we get to see Remy. We will be on the QSDP. Could we go just for dessert, and would we need reservations? There would only be 3 of us, and we could be pretty flexible on time.

Thanks!

:scared1: We'll be there for a late lunch on Apr. 29. Remy is essentially the reason I booked Chefs, so all I can say is, he better be there!!! :lmao:

That would not be good - my DH is not totally sold on eating at Chefs to begin with but he'll do just about anything for the kids. If I make Mr. Meat & Potatoes eat French food and we don't see a rat, I'll be in big trouble.;) (How many times do you hear anybody say that?:rotfl:)

Seriously, that's just the scenario I was afraid of - that it will be something they do sporadically and it'll only happen off in another part of the restaurant, if at all. I may need to re-think dinner for that night.:headache:

Don't book a reservation on a Sunday if it's about the rat and not the food. Remy doesn't appear on Sundays.

We ate there for dinner on March 9 (Monday) at 5:30 and our server had his handler bring him to our table right away cause the kids were cranky. He went to a few other tables with kids nearby us and then back into the kitchen. I didn't see him come out the rest of the time we were there.

Here's an upclose pic of him:

If this is the case, I don't think he was disappointed. I had a beef dish last week. It was a grilled sirloin served with potatoes augratin and veggies. It was wonderful!

This is too cute.
I never thought I would eat with a mouse other than Mickey!

This is adorable. I wonder if I should eat there just to see him.
You have an awesome shot of him. Thanks for sharing.
:yay:

We saw Remy in early March when we had lunch at Chefs. It was quite a surprise as there had been no reports of him at that point (we may have been the very first day in fact). Anyway, the lady was so funny and Remy is darling. But I would not schedule a meal there just to see Remy. It's just a fun little bit of Disney magic.

And it's not like Remy is out the whole time. He started in our area and then moved to at least one more before going backstage. Toward the end of our meal, he was back out in another area as I recall.

I would not try to go there just for dessert. Odds are you would miss him.

We saw him a few weeks ago. He just came out as we were getting our check, and I wanted DD to see him. So I asked our waitress if Remy could come over before we left, and she did it for us!

It's states that Remy does four "showings" a day. That just indicates how random this is to catch him during a meal.

We have a lunch ADR at 12:30, just when he's scheduled to appear. We'll see what happens.

At least I'll be able to distract the kids by telling them to keep a look out for Remy. :rotfl:

It's not a big deal to me, I've always wanted to dine at Chefs.

We had lunch there two weeks ago and wasn't sure what was going on. Remy was very cute and came around to all of the tables.

Yes, you can get a good meat/potatoes dish at Chefs. We have had some of the best servers at WDW at Chefs, also. It's a favorite and we're eating there twice on our visit in June, will hope to see Remy.

Thanks for all the replies and Tisha a special thanks for the photos - those are great. I think we'll keep the ADR. I've always wanted to eat at Chefs and this was a good way to get DH to go along. Sounds like he might be pleasantly surprised tho.

I had the filet and au gratin potatoes when I was there. It might have been the best filet I have ever had. So your meat and potatoes husband should be happy regardless if Remy is there or not!
