If you are staying in a Concierge room, i know there is a lounge with Food/Drink served.

Can you go, pick up food and drinks and take them back toy your room or do you have to eat them in the lounge only?

You can bring stuff back to your room. My DH even got 6 beers to keep in the room fridge. :goodvibes

You can take them with you. I got "pixie dusted" up to CL at the BC this year (first time for that!) and made a habit of grabbing a diet coke from the lounge when I came back to my room for an afternoon break, along with the occasional cookie or snack. I took a cookie and a cup of iced tea outside to wait for the boat to DHS one day.

As long as you don't bring half the table with you :rotfl: I just read a post on another board that this guy came into the lounge, took an arm full of beer back to his room, then came back with a stroller, and proceeded to fill that up with beer :scared1: Parents were seen later drunk as skunks at the pool :sad2:

When we would head back to the resort (AKL-CL) we would stop by the lounge for afternoon tea. We usually asked for a couple of beers and took a couple of sodas and cookies back to our room for a snack when we returned to the resort after our evening activities (dinner/parades/fireworks/JRs/whatever) when the lounge would already be closed. They even offered me a bottle opener if I needed one.

Ah, we weren't that bad!! LOL

The one time I stayed club level at the Poly, guests took huge trayloads of food and drinks out of the lounge back to their rooms. Then there were trays and dirty dishes lining the entire hallway.

Love the guy loading the stroller down with beer. Don't you now have to ask for a bottled beverage, they don't just have them out to grab?

We stayed CL at Animal Kingdom Lodge during hurricane Frances. At one point, they decided they were going to shut down the lounge area due to lack of staff and danger from the storm. Before doing so, the lounge staff came out with sacks of sodas, cookies and candies for us to take back to our room to tide us over. It was really nice!

Classy... :rotfl:

When I stayed at the poly I felt really uncomfortable taking stuff but with what we paid I shouldn't have!!!

I am not sure I believe this "story." At the AKL club we observed a person taking 6 beers and the CMs stopped him. They then pulled the beers off the line. You had to ask for them the rest of the night. At most of the other clubs they have the beers in the small frig with the exception of the PR where we found them behind the counter. Over the years we always found the Cm's will stop people taking large numbers (>2) of beers out of the club lounge.

This might have something to do with FL alcohol laws. I once saw a cashier at Gasparillas refuse to sell 5 beers to someone who was clearly over 21. The purchaser started to put up a fuss, and the cashier explained to her that by law she couldn't sell her more than 2 beers, as there was no guarantee that she wouldn't be giving the rest of the beers to minors. I know this doesn't make sense in that this same person could have gone into a supermarket and bought as much beer as they wanted. Maybe this is a law that pertains to hotels, and this is what happened at the AKL. If the person at the AKL was with 5 other people, I am sure that collectively they could have taken 6 beers out of the lounge.

Do they only stop you taking beers back toy our room. If i was to take 4-5 cans of different soft drinks out with me, would that be OK?

I like to have a bottle of vodka in the room and drink Vodka & Coke or Vodka & Orange in the evening.

In my experience, the CL staff limit each adult guest to 2 beers at one time. As for taking 6 cans of soda, doesn't that seem a little extreme? If I had 6 people wanting soda, I think I would bring them to the lounge to get their own, if only for appearance's sake. Just my opinion, but I would not be comfortable doing that.

My family frequently brought snacks (from the offerings)/sodas/drinks (even beer!) back to our room when we stayed CL at the poly.

Sometimes it was a breakfast for someone who was in the shower. Sometimes it was for my kiddos who were watching TV in the afternoon. The beers were for DH & I for when we got back from the parks at night and wanted a cool adult beverage or to keep in the fridge for pool time later.

We had no more than say 4 beers in our fridge at one time.

We didn't go overboard on the snacks/etc at all...

We loved staying CL and the food and drink offerings were very in line with our family's eating habits (ie: we subscribe to the belief that the DPs are WAY too much food) and it will be a tough call for us to decide CL over FD if FD is offered when we go.

To the above poster: I'm sure it will be fine for you to bring back a few sodas for your evening beverages (though you will have to supply the vodka yourself :goodvibes)

At The FG there are no trays any more. You can only take a plate (small one) and a drink to the room.

We stayed at the Boardwalk Inn club level last January. This was one of my favorite club levels at Disney to date. Anyway, it was just myself and teen son. I usually had to coax him to go to the lounge with me and more times than not I went myself. One night I wanted him to try some of the evening desserts so I tried to carry two plates with desserts and two drinks back to my room. I was having difficulty and one of the nice cm's helped me carry them to the room.

No one should really judge anyone if they are seen carrying food/drinks back to the room. In our case there were only two of us in the room and the room could accommodate four. And, some families may be there for only one or two presentations during the day as opposed to all of them.

Anyway, the point was that I don't think taking items back to the room is against the rules. You are paying an exorbitant amount of money to enjoy the amenities, you should not feel guilty. I do think with alcohol you may have some limitations.

Enjoy the club experience.:)

I wasn't under the impression that the concierge lounge was a free grocery store. I thought you partook of the offerings while you were there or took something that you had already started and were finishing back to your room. Or maybe a small treat for one of the kids. But it wasn't intended to be a source to stock your room.
