Today as I was driving home from work Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville came on the radio. This song reminds me of Typhoon Lagoon. I think because during our March '04 trip I heard it several dozen times during our 2 different days at TL. However, I just love the "take me back". As DS and I had a blast at the waterparks that trip. Is there any song that reminds you of Disney that's not a Disney song???

Just about any Aerosmith tune make me want to board the R'n'Rollercoaster.

"It's 5 o'clock somewhere" by Allan Jackson and, I think, Jimmy Buffet. Always reminds me of OKW. And any Manheim Steamroller Christmas music reminds me of walking around the Boardwalk-I think that's what they play there.

Silly as it sounds, thats 70's song, Car Wash.
When we cruised in 2002 they played that at the 70s night party. I happened to catch a little of it on my video tape.
Then again last Dec when we were at MGM 1 night they had a DJ playing all fun party songs in front of the Sorcerers Hat. Again I happened to catch a little of Car Wash on my videtape.
Since the only times I really hear that song is when watching those tapes, its sort of become a disney trip song to me. ;)

Lots of Buffett songs brings back many different childhood memories.
"Growing older, but not up" -
my metabolic rate is pleasently stuck,
so let the winds of change blow over my head,
I'd rather die while I'm livin' than live while I'm dead.

"Boat Drinks" -
This morning I shot six holes in my freezer.
I think I got cabin fever.
Somebody sound the alarm.
Boat drinks.
Waitress, I need two more boat drinks.
Then I'm headin south 'fore my dream shrinks.
I gotta where it's warm.

"Changes in Latitudes" -
Reading departure signs in some big airport
Reminds me of the places I've been.
Visions of good times that brought
so much pleasure
makes me want to go back again.
If it suddenly ended tomorrow,
I could somehow adjust to the fall.
Good times and riches and son of a *****es,
I've seen more than I can recall...
These changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes;
Nothing remains quite the same.
Through all of the islands and all of the highlands,
If we couldn't laugh we would all go insane !

"First Look" -
Fun tickets in my pocket, visions in my brain
Grand father always told me if I went down
I might never come back again
It was my First Look
Baby that's all it took
Was my First Look

Some of these songs are referring to other places but when you have Disney on your mind, it fits.
As Jimmy says, Margaritaville is a place in your mind. It is different for everyone. Maybe my Margaritaville is Disney World with my family.
Speakin' of Margarita's, anyone see my lost shaker of salt?

that kelly clarkson song, "breakaway" reminds me of WDW for some reason. probably because it was always on the radio right before we left for our last trip. plus the lyrics are compatable with a disney vacation - "make a wish, take a chance...breakaway..."

When I went in January of 2002 for the first time in 16 years, Shakira's Whenever, Wherever was VERY popular, and I heard it at the airport. That ALWAYS reminds of Disney.

In Nov 2002 my then 11 year old daughter had the thrill of a lifetime when she performed on the tomorrowland stage with a group from her dancing school. They danced to Lee Greenwood's "Proud To Be An American" and since it was a tribute to America soon after 9/11 there wasn't a dry eye in sight. Whenever i hear that song i can't help but cry and remember standing in DISNEY WORLD while watching my little girl dance!

I doubt that anyone will recognize this but my church choir is currently rehearsing a Christmas cantata entitled "An Old Fashioned Christmas". It is set in the early 1900's and has lot's of narration. The first time we heard it I looked at DW and she said "Carousel of Progress". We should try to get Jean Shepard to do the narration!!

"What a wonderful World" Always makes me think of Disney!!

On our May '99 trip, we went with friends and heard "Livin' la vida loca" everytime we got into the car... That became our trip theme song. Now I hear it, and it brings me back. :smooth:

Who Let The Dogs Out.

At MNSSHP on Halloween in 2000 this song was played really loudly at a dance party in Cosmic Ray's. Buzz Lightyear was leading the dancing and it was hilarious!
