Remind me - can you make changes without penalty within the 5 day room only window? I know you lose the deposit if you cancel, but I thought you could make changes? The terms and conditions on the confirmation doesn't mention that scenario.

I want to book Monday night, but I won't know for sure we will get there by then until Saturday. If I can book now and just change without penalty, that would be great. We have another trip planned that I could move it to.

I think changes are okay. Just mentions the penalty for canceling inside of 5 days.

If you're within 5 days can you cancel without penalty after modifying the reservation to a date further out?

That I don't know. Never tried that.

If there is a change that lowers the price, isn't there a penalty? But if it ups the price there is not?

I have done this a few times in the past. The last time was about a year ago. I always wait or week or two after modifying before I cancel, not that it makes a difference but it makes me feel safer!

Update - no issue adding a night and then changing the resort later. Went from 3 night YC CL to 4 night SSR 2 BR.
