We used them once, from Newark 5 or 6 years ago. I remember being pleased with the experience, a TV on the seatback if I recall, but I don't remember much. Such as, boarding procedures, online checkin ahead of time and WiFi. Can anyone bring me up to date?

When you book the flight, you choose your seats. They board the flight by row, starting at the back of the plane.

There is a TV for every seat. You have to bring your own headphones. If you don't bring them, there should be a self-service bin where you can buy them at the airport. If you still don't have them when you get on the plane, you can buy them from the flight attendant -- but not until he/she has time after boarding, and you must pay by credit card.

No free blankets or pillows. You can buy them, but again you must pay with a credit card. They don't accept cash on the plane.

No wi fi on the plane, as far as I know.

You can check in online, 24 hours before your flight, and print out your boarding pass. If you are going to Disney World, there are various places where they will check you in online and print out your boarding pass, including the concierge desk at the Disney hotels, and Guest Relations at the theme parks.

Can you print your boarding passes at the airport (as well as check in at the airport) for Jet blue?

Does Jet Blue rates fluctuate? I think the $155 rate each way from Boston seems high for September so I'd like to wait a bit (understanding the risk of prices going up). I'm only familuar with SWA so I'm out if my comfort zone.

Yes, you can print your boarding passes at the airport, as well as checkin there. No problem doing that at all. If I have bags to check, I usually don't bother checking in from home....I just get to the airport 2 hrs before my flight and checkin when I hand over my bags.

Yes, Jetblue's fares do tend to fluctuate. BUT....while they can go down, they can also go up. They will give you a credit if the fares go down, but you have to stay on top of them and call when the fare goes down. They then cancel your existing reservation and make a new one so you have to be sure they give you back the same seats you originally selected.
Of course, that policy can change at any time.

If you pay for Even More space seats (extra leg room) you get early boarding.

Even More Space will also get your priority security line bypass at certain airports. They are rolling out wi-fi, but not on every plane yet, I think by end of 2012 they will have that. They also have satellite radio at each seat. If your fare drops they will give you a credit toward future travel that has to be booked within 365 days of the credit being issued. Online checkin 24 hours ahead of time. You can print your boarding passes at the airport or have them do it for you.

Why do they have to cancel the old reservation then book a new one? If the price goes down, and you call them about it, wouldn't they just give you a credit for the difference (for use later)? That's what many other airlines do. Just curious, I've never tried that with JB.

I think it is just an internal thing at JB. You keep your same confirmation number, but sometimes they say, just please wait while I reconfirm your seats.
